that thing about green veg and other stuff most interesting that you never knew
got it for the kindle reader and as you know somethings and sometimes you start to read and get so far into the book...'s with a kindle yes it'll save where you've read to.. the furthest point. and as often as not, the thing will lose charge in the times i'm not using it so when you open it up after re-powering it'll take you back to the book list and as you scan through you'll see a title and think did i finish that story.. let's have a look. As is the case with this book got well into it it was interesting yes even if it is from an American standpoint it still applies here in the uk as we seem to have adopted most if not all US farming practices the very worse of animal husbandry and with crop growing systems on an industrial scale most of these have been imported from the land of the so called free. so this book was an eye opener to the truth of the failure of the American diet(dream) and the fat epidemic. but also it shines a light on other little known causes for chronic ill health and still in practice here, most touted as healthy eating by the nhs with nothing changed from the low fat is good for you and no fat is even better lie. and the lies about heat refined vegetable oil being good for the body and sugar is not harmful or addictive fib. and how it is next to impossible to escape from it as their all used in everything with deceptive names and clauses so it doesn't have to be declared on the ingredient list even when they say it is free from those nasty bad ingredients how the big stores allow it all to be in the product just to keep making large profits from the sugar addicted ignorance of their consumers Any how back to the book, it will open your mind to all the things you need to be aware of if you want to have a healthy pain free life, it'll show you the truth. things that you really should know that are not taught anywhere, not in schools or ever on the tv. and defiantly never offered by your private/general practise doctor pill pusher with the, take a couple of these you'll feel better drug med philosophy makes them seem Hench-gentleman/lady's and zombie droog's of the big pharma corporate monster. though i didn't need the book as i'd seen a few of the authors vlogs on youtube that go into greater depth and detail on all the subjects in this book And much much more he introduces other and varied health and life ideas by medical specialists world wide. a vast knowledge base to be explored at leisure pick and chose what you think you might follow and get round to being as and when the penny drops and understanding seeps in helps your aim in banging that nail home beat the flab and beat the aches and pains what to avoid or limit so much you didn't know, you didn't know.

The book is not easy reading (twice with highlighting in my case) but well ...
The book is not easy reading (twice with highlighting in my case) but well worth the effort!!! Dr Gundry's supplements are good but expensive (especially when shipped to the UK with added VAT) but following the main part of the book as a lifestyle change eating plan,, taking B Complex supplements, Vit D and a multivit and mineral tablet every day still cannot fail to get results. As a healthy but very overweight 68 year old sweet- toothed vegetarian, in Jan 2017 his 'Diet Evolution' simply clicked with me, and I followed the suggestion in it, and now have adapted fully to the Plant Paradox plan. Weight lose is slow but steady, but the other benefits more than make up for this. I've cured my sweet tooth addiction, and now experience a lovely sense of well-being. None of this is a quick fix, it's not easy but VERY beneficial: visible results are not only external but also internal. I did and will continue to buy the Vital Reds supplement because loving fruit, I know I must limit it to a max to avoid sugar cravings. Vital Reds contain fruit extracts but mixed with yogurt (goat milk) it doesn't cause further sugar cravings. Dr Gundry's supplements aren't cheap, especially as you have to add vat to UK imports, and sometimes especially in his first book, there is a little bit too much American hard sell of his products. However, much to his credit he seems to have realized that not everyone's budget is infinitely elastic, and cheaper alternatives are frequently presented in the Plant Paradox. Super book, super plans and super doctor. I've ignored his debunkers-hope you will too! .

So glad the message is getting out there that fat is good and grains are bad!
I have only just ordered this for my Kindle and am very much looking forward to reading it all. I read most of the preview already for the hardback version. I am 100% certain that our government guidelines have helped to make us all sick and what is worse I think they know this but will not make the necessary changes. Following on from us copying the US who went along with the 'findings' of the Ancel Keys 7 Countries Report (despite the fact that he had begun the study with 22 countries that were not used to 'prove' his point that saturated fat led to heart disease), back in the '70's, none of the findings since then have been considered! So today most doctors and most of the general public are convinced that we should be eating a low fat diet with 'healthy whole grains' representing the largest part of our plates! When in fact we should be eating a high fat and low carb diet if we want to be healthy. I have watched quite a few of Steven Gundry's videos and am very glad that he has put this book out there. The more that become educated the better. Last year I allowed wheat to creep into my diet now and then along with sugar, having been on a strictly LCHF diet for the two years previously. The result was that I gained weight, my hypertension returned with my BP being 214/144 on Feb 15th, and I felt tired all the time and very irritable and my IBS also returned. Just since Feb 15th, being back on the LCHF way of eating, although not totally ketogenic, and with two 36 hr water only fasts a week, I have lost over two stone, my BP is now 126/94, I have way more energy, am sleeping better and enjoying life so much more with no more depression and with a general feeling of well being. AND my food tastes better! I'm loving my food so much and enjoying trying out new recipes all the time and also loving my fast days twice a week, as I have more time on my hands to get things done. We are all different and have to find the best way to fit healthy eating into our lives and then we need to experiment on ourselves to get the tweaks just right for us. I am glad Gundry hasn't ruled out cheese and eggs as I don't want to give those up but after the 6 months mark in August I will undergo an elimination diet removing all dairy and eggs for 6 to 8 weeks and then re-introducing them one by one, just to be sure I'm okay with them. I'm now looking into getting more fermented foods in to heal the gut and will be experimenting with kefir, kombucha and kimchi along with my apple cider vinegar water that I take each day. It really is a try it and see sort of thing for us all to get it right for ourselves. But my heart goes out to those who use will power to stick to a low fat diet with lots of grains, believing that it is healthy. I would recommend this book to anyone who cares about their health and especially if they believe that low fat is good. Read and then do your own research and then enjoy a truly healthy diet that doesn't involve an ounce of will power because with all that fat things taste so wonderful! My saffron roast potatoes (which I don't eat too often) roasted in goose fat with a cheese sauce made from just cream and cheese and no flour to thicken it and a lovely gravy, which I hadn't put on when I took that photo, thickened by reducing it - is a healthy meal :-) As is the Creole Salad with a whole avocado, a fair bit of bacon and a dressing made with plenty of healthy oils, I used olive oil and linseed oil for that one and apple cider vinegar, along with other healthy ingredients such as garlic. Both meals were completely organic and taste great and with no guilt needed at all :-) Have to say, I'm intrigued to find out why he suggests that we cut out tomatoes and peppers! I love those so hope I don't need to cut them out but will add them to my elimination weeks if I feel he has some sound reasoning for it. I wish everyone the joy of eating truly healthy food.

Very educational health information book.
I like this book very much. I had borrowed a copy prior to purchase so I knew what I was buying and I decided I wanted the convenience of having my own copy in the house to go to for referencing. Steven Gundry explains everything in great detail and gives you the latest research information to back up his beliefs. However I have marked him down a star because he contradicts himself several times within the book. Very educational for anyone wanting health ideas.

Strictly eliminating foods with these bad lectins completely clear up all my symptoms
This book is a MUST READ if you suffer from any kind of autoimmune disease. I've had psoriasis, joint pains and stomach issues for 20 years and tried almost everything I could find. Avoiding certain lectins, as described in the book by Dr. Gundry, is the ONLY thing that has been able to completely clear up all my symptoms (and within days). I have always followed the official recommendations to always opt for whole grains and eaten lot's of Nightshade fruits and vegetables. Little have I known that I have only damaged myself all these years by eating that stuff. Strictly eliminating foods with these bad lectins completely clear up all my symptoms. I do not care what the critics of Dr. Gundry say, because IT REALLY WORKS FOR ME when I take the bad lectins completely away! If I e.g. just eat a single cashew nut, a slice of whole grain bread or a small portion of mashed potatoes then my issues start again about 2-4 hours later and it will continue for a day or two. Again: Staying completely away from these bad lectins foods completely keep my symptoms away. This book contain the most important health information that I have ever learned. and if you too also have an autoimmune disease I strongly recommend that you at least try following the plant paradox for a period of time. It is a well written book by a highly reputable MD. It is easy to read and understand and the claims are backed up with reputable scientific references and based on his works with thousands and thousands of real people over many years.

PLANT PARADOX ENLIGHTENING INFORMATION REVEALS OTHER 'DIETARY HEALTH' REGIMES TO BE INEFFECTIVE
This most informative book is well presented in small sections that are are easy to read as well as understand as Dr Gundry explains everything so clearly, step by step. It is essential reading for whoever wants to improve their health, whether on a gluten free regime (which is also loaded with the dreaded inflammatory lectins) , is overweight, has inflammation of the gut, other very serious health issues, or whatever. Dr Gundry gives you the science as to why certain issues prevail not only in humans but in cattle too, and has found over years of his research that if you eat the flesh of cattle that have been fattened on lectin containing feed, these inflammatory proteins that cannot be dissolved, will affect your gut too. It is a most enlightening book and can be picked up as and when the urge for more information needs to be satisfied. ALL of my large collection of supposedly health promoting dietary advice books are now in the recycling bin as nothing else can touch this insightful advice. The 3 stages of this dietary program as well as the detailed delicious easy to prepare recipes are most helpful as a pathway to health.. Some of the recommended US foods are not readily available other than in Health Food shops or via Amazon, but they ARE available. And, other supermarkets with FREE FROM isles could be encouraged to stock them. Dr Gundry's recipes are easy to follow and are delightfully tasty.

Partly enjoyable!
A bit confusing book. I thoroughly enjoy the first part where you learn so much information about plant toxins, lectins, etcโฆ and how it is harmful to your body. The second part is confusing as it highly leans on the plant based diet.

Highly recommended!
Dr Gundry's books are fantastic! I have followed his advice and dropped grains etc from my diet. Early days but my psoriasis has completely gone!!! My elbows are smooth and silky as are my legs and my face has improved too with no blotches or dry areas on my eyelids anymore. No more scaly ,itchy skin. On top of that, my stomach is flat which is a something I have not experienced before as have always been rather bloated. Nice to have a waist again! My real reason for starting this new regime is to see if I can cure my hypertension so am hoping this will happen and at least I will be able to cut down on medication, even if I cannot get rid of them completely. Granted, can be quite hard to follow but if you love vegetables and fish then it is not so bad. I do not feel hungry surprisingly and not craving any sugars. He is such a well qualified doctor with huge experience so I reckon he really knows what he is talking about and that is enough for me!

Must read to healthy eating: paradigm shift in our dietary habits & familial dietary misgivings.
A well thought thro book. Bit wordy and self praising but once this wordy noise is removed the content is good. This is especially about the format and removal of many misconceptions that we carry about our dietary habits.

Muy interesante
Es uno de los libros mas intersantes sobre la nutricion que he leido. Basicamente habla sobre los anti-nutrientes in plantas que es una tema generalmente no explorado en nuestra sociedad. En ingles.
