The feel of this clay on the wheel is just like butter.
I used this clay on my pottery wheel. The feel is just like butter. It has enough body to throw big pots. I love to leave the bottom of my pots/bowls bare to show the black clay. It fires smooth and the glazes look terrific on the black surface. I don't use it in hand building as it is too expensive for the hand-built items I make.

Bisque fire looks chocolate brown but then turns black at cone 5 with glaze! Wonderful
This is very nice workable clay. It looks very brown when it’s first fired at cone 04 for the first bisque fire. However once it’s fired to cone 5 or 6 it’s black as expected. I used Amaco Honey flux all over this and then just a little Amaco Ancient Jasper on the rip with drips inside. It looks like hot chocolate after fired. I just love it. It was a nice surprise to use this clay for the first time.

Does not fire black at cone 6
This looks very brown at cone 6. I expected it to fire black.

I love this clay. It was delivered still holding plenty of moisture, easy to work with. Looking forward to seeing how this fires.
