![Kiki's Delivery Service (Bluray/DVD Combo) [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51sDsIQMAEL.jpg)

From the legendary Studio Ghibli, creators of Spirited Away and Ponyo, and Academy Award-winning director Hayao Miyazaki, comes the beloved coming-of-age story of a resourceful young witch who uses her broom to create a delivery service, only to lose her gift of flight in a moment of self-doubt. It is tradition for all young witches to leave their families on the night of a full moon and fly off into the wide world to learn their craft. When that night comes for Kiki, she embarks on her New journey with her sarcastic black cat, Jiji, landing the next morning in a seaside village, where her unique skills make her an instant sensation. Don’t miss this delightfully imaginative and timeless story of a young girl finding her way in the world, featuring the voices of Kirsten Dunst, Janeane Garofalo, Phil Hartman, and Debbie Reynolds. Review: Good Movie! - Prompt delivery, new CD, old movie. "Kiki" was originally aimed at European audiences. Beautifully drawn, good story. Can be watched by the family. Prior to the release of "Spirited Away," I believe this was Studio Ghibli's #1 movie. Review: (null) - Classic movie! Good picture quality

Sweetest Movie of All Time & Yes, Audio has been Edited.
Kiki’s Delivery Service is a sweet, charming film and one of the first Miyazaki films I’ve seen (viewed on the Disney Channel years ago). The DVD version I own (distributed by Disney) has problems. Sometimes the DVD would play and other times it won’t. I know it’s not any of the DVD/Blu-Ray systems I own (even my PS3 rejected it). I would usually get a message that says “check disc” or “unable to read”. The disc has no scratches or anything. After cleaning the disc anyways (a few times), the movie would finally play. Anyways, when I heard they re-released this movie again on Blu-ray & DVD, this gave me the opportunity to replace my DVD (and buy other Miyazaki films I never got in the past). Upon purchasing this Blu-Ray & DVD release, I noticed a lot of reviews stating the movie was edited (not the footage, but the audio). In Amazons description, it states that there was English Dolby Surround Sound Version & Stereo Version. When I read that, I thought that maybe one of those would have the unedited version. When I finally got it, I went to setup to see if there was the two versions, Dolby & Stereo. Sadly, only the Dolby Version was listed (Stereo was NOT listed). Amazon should remove English Stereo from their description. Anyways, some lines were removed from the movie esp. Jiji’s lines. I don’t understand why the dialogue was removed. A lot of Jiji’s lines were pretty funny and I especially loved how he revealed at the end that he can talk to Kiki again, but in this version he doesn’t talk at the end, just meows like a normal cat. A little disappointed about that edit, but the movie is still great. Even though I had planned to get rid of the DVD after I got my new replacement, I decided to keep the DVD because that version has all the dialogue. So I own an edited and unedited version (as pictured). So for anyone that has the original DVD copy, DO NOT get rid of it. That’s probably the only copy that has all the dialogue. Despite the audio being edited in this version, it’s still a good movie and worth getting.

Beautiful Family Movie
I was amazed at animated movies when I was a kid, now I love seeing the same look on my kids' faces when we watch great movies like this. They love Studio Ghibli movies, we have all of them, but right now they are really into this one. We try to watch a different movie every night, but we have managed to watch these one 2 or 3 times a week. They LOVE how the little girl fly's around on her broom giving "gifts" to everyone. You can't beat how amazing these movies look, and how much joy they bring to kids. of any age.

Kiki’s is a classic family movie!
The movie came right on time for movie night in perfect condition wrapped in plastic. We watched it in Japanese audio with English subtitles, but it does have an English dub setting. A good first Ghibli movie for young families! Nothing too weird or scary. Beautiful pictures and lovely music.

A movie that speaks to viewers of all ages.
This is one of the Ghibli classics I love most. (No spoilers) The story is a simple, classic, coming of age story that approaches the difficulties of becoming a responsible adult in a world that can sometimes be hostile to the young and inexperienced. While exploring the main protagonist's hopes and dreams, and how they often clash with a sometimes painful reality, we are encouraged by beautiful animation, friendship, joyful music, and a few friendly faces. This film is one of my favorite due to its use of light fantasy elements to draw in young viewers, while still speaking realistically to the more mature viewers. This is also why My Neighbor Totoro is one of my favorites. Both movies are written in such a way as to simultaneously speak to children in a way that is clear to them, and speak another way to adults. It's easy in both films to see nothing but the fantasy (the child's view) or to see everything else behind the fantasy (the adult view) making the story age very well with the viewer. It's hard to grow out of these stories.

Kiki's Delivery Service follows the story Kiki, a young witch, who, following witch tradition, sets out on her own at the age of thirteen using her magical skills to make a place for herself. Lacking any other significant magical skills, Kiki decides to use her skill at flying to start a delivery service. This family-friendly tale deals with the struggles of independence and feelings of not being capable in the face of difficulties. This bubbly and precocious witch attracts the affection and support of some wonderful supporting characters who will guide her on her way, and will no doubt capture your heart as well. Studio Ghibli is known for their high quality films and Kiki's Delivery Service does not disappoint. Though an older style, it is so well animated that it doesn't feel out-of-date. The direction really captures the wonder of this world of talking cats and flying broomsticks. The English dubbing on this film is so well done that if you prefer not to read subtitles you won't lose any of the magic of the original. If any of the description appeals to you, pick it up, you won't be disappointed!

There's information missing on this product: there's no region number mentioned. It's compatible for region 1. So not compatible with region 2 (Europe), which means you can't play this movie in most European bluray and dvd players.
