This scanner does have a subscription, but it includes two years free, which is more than enough time to get serious value out of it. Considering that many mechanics charge around $200 just for a diagnostic, this tool realistically pays for itself after only one or two uses. Great scanner...has lot's of service options, however I don't know if maybe it's the age of my vehicle or something but most services on the scanner are available, but not supported on almost any vehicle I have hooked up to at this point, so to me it's just a flashy, WiFi capable, OBD 2 scanner as yes it gives live feedback, but some of the additional services I have tried to run on my vehicles and others always come back with the same result that they are not supported. Well... maybe one day it will be a little more useful to me.

Its connectivity is surprisingly faster than the shop's $6000 Snap On Scanner! Its incredible how easy the interface on this device is, so straight forward and easy to navigate. If your serious about this career, this tool is a MUST HAVE for your tool box. I have used other Top Don products and have always been more than pleased with their high quality. received quickly very high quality case however when I went to do the initial setup there's a section where you have to ask for an email verification code I have tried every single email address I have and every single Wi-Fi network that I have and it refuses to send me a verification email so basically this thing is a useless brick. I haven't already diag 600s that has been nothing but a joy to use but this one has more capability and I have an existing top Don account however I can't even get to the part where I can do the initial setup on this one. it's infuriating that they have no product support except during very limited hours.

What could be improved: —User manual is very basic and doesn’t explain how to get to many functions.
