The position of daughter’s cot unfortunately gives her access to the light switch, as she has discovered this week. Instead of going to bed and sleeping, we’ve been watching her explore her new ability to turn the lights on and off on the baby monitor. The real test will be tonight but I’m optimistic she won’t be able to get to the switch now. Super easy to install, a lot more user friendly in comparison to the stick on options (I don’t want to carry a credit card around with me to turn on the lights!). A bit pricey in my opinion but hopefully worth it in nerves and light bulbs. Note: You may have to get longer M3.5 electrical screws, our existing ones no longer worked with this on top!

Really effective at preventing kids from playing with the light switches! Can be tricky to open until you get used to it. Only issue is the material. It's made from the type of plastic that would shatter, to create sharp fragments, if smashed rather than than just crack.

Fantastic item. In our builders wisdom he put the light switch above the isolation switch in the garage so we kept on turning off the power defrosting our chest freezer. This item is brilliant quick to install and does the job.

Bought because I have a toddler who likes to climb on the sofa and flick the lights on and off. Within a day of putting this up the toddler had figured out how to open it. They were perplexed for a couple more weeks when we turned it upside down, however then figured it out without any issues. Best look elsewhere if your child like to play with things incessantly.

I absolutely love these things. The reason we bought them is because we have all of the lights in the house set up with bulbs that work with Alexa. My father-in-law doesn’t get in well with asking her to turn lights on and off when he visits and so he starts pressing switches. admittedly we do have a lot of light switches on some areas of the house as they also control the various outside lights. When he flicks a switch and nothing happens he gets frustrated and instead of realising he has turned an outside light on he just starts flicking every switch in the vicinity. This then takes us ages to get the switches in the right position as some of them are 3 way switches (controlled from 3 different locations). These simple plastic covers have solved the issue, now he has to just remember to ask Alexa.

I bought these to stop a almost 3 year old turning on his light at bedtime as he was playing with the switch. Easy to install. Just unscrew the 2 screws on your light switch and screw them back in with this over the top. I added some double sided sticky tape to make it even more secure as found it would bend a bit if pulled without it. Has worked amazingly. No more lights on all night.
