Without measuring I would estimate no more than one inch. Very solid, heavy, and sturdy.

Is it safe to place this stand on carpet?

We have ours on carpet and have not had any issues.

Can a 65 inch tv fit with out tipping over?

I don’t recall the specs on this in the description but I would not feel comfortable with a 65” on this in my home.
