Speak Thai Today: A Complete Thai Language Course. From Beginner to Conversational Speaker the Easy Way!

So simple and easy to understand as someone looking to speak a bit of Thai when I visit!

Excellent. Have taken courses with PLS using the previous version of this book which were very good, but this version is superior. The online options are great (and without needing passwords etc. very user friendly. I have also Speak Thai Today 2 and Thai Tenses & Talking About Time, also both very useful. I'd tried a few books, unsuccessfully, before buying this one. What a difference! The simple explanations and clear examples helped me understand quickly. I was able to make sentences and ask questions within the first few days of using it. The online materials are a great help too. As you'd expect, there's audio for all the examples of course, but there are also exercises, videos and quizzes. I was so impressed by how quickly I made progress, I decided to buy more books by the same authors. I've since been learning to read Thai as well, and it's a lot of fun reading the Thai script in this book while still having the romanised phonetic to help out. If you're a beginner or a false starter like I was, then I can't recommend this book enough. It's clear, written in simple English and has loads of examples.

To say you will speak Thai in a day is nonsense , you’d have to be Einstein to complete even a sentence with this , I intend to persevere with it but it’ll take me months not a day sadly

I got this book because I saw it while searching for a Thai dictionary. I'm so glad I did. It is the only resource I have found so far that has been been able to explain the word láeo and how it is used in a way I understand. The first thing I did when recieving the book was to find that word. It was confusing me so much but now I think I finally get it. Thank you ! I find it hard to learn new languages, and Thai is rather daunting because of the tones. I feel confident that with this book I will progress quickly. Thank you for the free online audio as well.

Great book. They writers have done a great job with their books making it easier to learn what has been a daunting language for me to learn. I got the read and write Thai today and the ultimate Thai visual dictionary all together and linked with the on line resources I find them much more effective.
