The Universe May Be a Mystery, But It's No Secret Michael Schneider leads us on a spectacular, lavishly illustrated journey along the numbers one through ten to explore the mathematical principles made visible in flowers, shells, crystals, plants, and the human body, expressed in the symbolic language of folk sayings and fairy tales, myth and religion, art and architecture. This is a new view of mathematics, not the one we learned at school but a comprehensive guide to the patterns that recur through the universe and underlie human affairs. A Beginner's Guide to Constructing, the Universe shows you: Why cans, pizza, and manhole covers are round. Why one and two weren't considered numbers by the ancient Greeks. Why squares show up so often in goddess art and board games. What property makes the spiral the most widespread shape in nature, from embryos and hair curls to hurricanes and galaxies. How the human body shares the design of a bean plant and the solar system. How a snowflake is like Stonehenge, and a beehive like a calendar. How our ten fingers hold the secrets of both a lobster and a cathedral. And much more. Review: Fascinating stuff - Everyone should read this. Mathematical proofs of the divine at a bargain buster basement price. It's a no brainer. Review: The best book - ever! - If I were ever invited on to Desert Island Discs, I would choose this as my book. Paired with paper and a simple geometry set, the hours pass in pure heaven. I have owned it for >25 years and would never want to be without it!

Whoever know what 1-10 embody?
Fairly practical, through to spiritual. With this you can feel deeply into the mystery behind our basic numbers. Fascinating for high functioning kids or curious adults.

Maths will never be the same!
I was recommended this book and though I have found it tough going, it is superb. Forget your maths at school, this brings numbers and nature to life, this is real knowledge. If you are biased by your religion, then tough, this author has a great reverence for the real side of the creator, so go buy and it will help you realise that creation is around you and amazing. If a few more world leaders and industrialists read this we might have sanity instead of greed and stupidity, here's hoping.

Well i've had it on my to read list for quite a while and a conversation kicked it into my awareness again so before i paid money to gift it i got it on audible. suffice to say i'm still listening to it as well as reading and highlighting the copy i got (allegedly) for my daughter...

Reminds us why Geometry is Sacred!
Michael Schneider is genius. This book opened my eyes to the importance of Geometry as a spiritual path and how it not only has to do with structure and form in the material universe, but also rules states of mind and relations between people and processes and the environment. Practicing drawing the geometric forms really helps us understand our inner and outer universe and Michael Schneider takes us on a grand and deep journey. This is a very deep and thorough work, both in terms of information and also in depth of thought. One of the most useful books for anyone who would want to know how Geometry can help us spiritually and mentally as well as materially.

Harmony between math, art, philosophy, and theology.
This is a fantastic book that will spark your imagination and get you seeing the relationship between math and the cosmos in a new light. There are extensive quotes throughout the book that illuminate the pragmatic mathematics presented. If you are involved with building sciences at all (architects, structural engineers, carpenters, stereotomists), or you are coming at it from a more spiritual angle (the golden ratio, numbers representing divine principles), you'll find a vast warehouse of knowledge within this book. I often travel with this book, and leave it on a shelf in a hostel somewhere.

A valuable reference book. Sacred geometry impacts every aspect of human life.
A reference book that is never far from my reach as I study the significance of the golden ratio throughout the universe and through our body and learn about the importance of order and balance for harmony, health and wellbeing. . Michael's descriptions creates better understanding of the importance of order for mind-body health and survival of life on earth.

Must read. Opens your mind.
The author reveils a profound knowledge of spiritual teachings world wide and transmits a part of his wisdom to the interested reader. A completely new value is given to numbers and geometry. I hated both math and geometry in school, but had to change my mind after this very interesting book. Don't get shocked by the old fashioned cover! The inside is up to date!
