The minimalistic appearance is deceiving because this wonderful webcam hides some extremely powerful technology within its tiny, sleek, aluminium body. I’d been looking for a simple, yet powerful webcam for some time — something different from all those bland, standard-issue Logitech ones that seem to be everywhere. I wanted a compact, high resolution, high frame rate camera and I wanted it to be great at one thing — to work so well and so reliably that I never have to even think about it. I spend most of my working life in Zoom/Teams meetings so why would I skimp on my webcam quality?! Lumina does everything I want from a webcam and it does it extremely well. It sits atop my screen without drawing lots of attention to itself and the software is equally unobtrusive. The colour balancing aspect makes it easy to tune my image to whatever ambient lighting conditions that present themselves throughout the day, and the smart features give it just enough useful differentiation from regular webcams to stand out, without bucketloads of pointless filters and other distractions that every other manufacturer thinks we all want. The image is crisp and well-defined, it responds quickly to glares and sudden flashes of varying intensity, and I can even wander around the room when presenting and be confident that my camera will follow me wherever I venture. I thoroughly recommend this camera and if I had to setup another location for work, I’d buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

I am a bit of a photo geek so the most impressive feature for me is the size of the capture sensor, which is massive. Basically what that means is the hardware is equipped with the ability to capture more overall detail, and nuances, like for instance skin tonalities, gestures, color. The build quality is great for such a small item, and it does everything it's supposed to and more. "I already have a webcam built-in"... Me too, I use this one for meetings where I want presentation to be key, and when streaming, as an alternate angle to capture from. Setup was easy, it's an apple product from when apple prioritized build quality.

Sadly, I purchased mine before it was available on Amazon and I could've easily got a refund! At first, it wasn't bad, although the advertised auto-colour balance wasn't implemented! The software though, was taking so much CPU, that the video was super-choppy, even with all the fancy AI extensions disabled. I suspect there was a memory leak in the code too, as it would consume more and more memory, until I'd have to reboot every few hours, so I went back to my trusty old Logitech HD C920. Recently, I invested in a sit/stand desk and wanted a second camera, so that when I was standing, it was already setup. I reached for my old Lumina, updated the software and firmware, and it wouldn't even show a picture in my webcam management software. As a result, I finally binned it!

Se especifica que la cámara funciona a máximo de resolución a 4K, a 40fps, pero no alcanza ni 24fps. Incluso a mínima resolución 720p, con todas las opciones de tratado de imagen, las opciones de seguimiento desactivadas, y con baja iluminación, se queda en alrededor de 22fps, lo cual es insuficiente para los objetivos que tengo planeado. En mi posición necesito bastante fluidez, alrededor de 30-40fps sería lo correcto. En funcionamiento regular, con las opciones por defecto, funciona a 19-20fps, en un ordenador Mac con procesador M1 del 2023, por lo que no es un problema del terminal. Para las pruebas se ha reinstalado dos veces, reiniciado el ordenador varias veces, optimizada la configuración, a mínima resolución, el máximo alcanzado fue de 22fps.

Really good product. I especially like the size as I initially thought / assumed it was bigger, but it's really the size of a small cigarette lighter (I don't smoke, but only reference that came to mind...), which means you can actually carry it with you, not only use it at home or the office. And for the functionality, it did what it claimed. Good auto-focus, good functionality. Great picture quality and easy integration with all video apps. Actually no integration as it worked seamlessly which was another unexpected benefit. Generally all good with a few unexpected positive suprises!

I initially got this webcam because the built-in one on my Mac wasn’t quite doing the job well enough for all my daily zoom calls with clients. Having a grainy screen all the time is incredibly frustrating so I decided to do my research and find one that would work for me! The Lumina most definitely didn’t disappoint! In terms of external functionality, I love how sleek the design is, from the gorgeous rose gold colour to the flexibility to rotate in multiple directions. It’s super easy to clip onto my Macbook as well and is very stable - I never have to worry about it falling down during a call or anything. The AI system is also really cool in terms of being able to adjust for depth, color and the focus is always on me - no matter how I move around! I’m definitely going to have to play around with it more and explore all the specific functions, but it’s honestly quite user friendly so far. I also love how you can just plug and play, so if you’re traveling somewhere or using a different device, you can just plug in the Lumina and it will still provide a crisp image, even without downloading the software. 10/10 would definitely recommend to a friend!
