It claims to bond steel and alluminium on the box and I've just successfully stuck two bits of brass together with it to see what happened. It depends what you are doing, but gluing metal seems a bit counter intuitive unless other methods (solder, screws, rivets etc) couldn't be used.

How fast does the glue dry without the activator compared to after applying the activator?

"ages" - with the activator, it's a few seconds at most. Without, I've still been applying parts around 30-40 seconds later, aligning edges etc.

Will it stick wood to a wall (eg wood to hang curtain rail on)

Depends on the wall but I’d guess that either the plasterboard paper, or the plaster itself will fail. This is designed for jointing pieces of wood together, not hanging things on walls. Use a mechanical fixing
