Pretty good but fragile during assembly and fitting
A decent product at a reasonable price but: Instructions could be more detailed - fitting the fan is far from “intuitive”. It is also quite fragile and could be damaged during assembly and fitting if care isn’t take.

Extractor
Brought to fit in kitchen window to cover up hole previous owners had put in but never finished. Perfect fit and easy to install.

Good but can produce annoying click sound
Simple and does the job - fit existing hole perfectly - easy to install. Deducted two stars as this doesn't run silent - there is a bit of back and forth give on the fan axle meaning that sometimes the fan blades strike the housing with a plastic click click sound that is audible outside of the room. Not a deal breaker but be aware if you are sensitive to that kind of thing. Tempted to buy another in to see if maybe I got a defective unit... But then that kinda defeats the purpose of what was supposed to be a cost effective alternative to a powered fan!

Perfect replacement
It was purchased to replace an identical unit that had finally broken after 40 years of service. It was actually broken by a ham fisted window cleaner. It fitted perfectly and works as it should.

We used to have one of these in the Utility ...
We used to have one of these in the Utility Room window until British Gas insisted that we changed it for a static vent to prevent us from closing the shutters and impeding the air flow. The static one worked OK for a few years until the annual service was carried out on a relativelly still day. The Warm Air Heater was failed due to insufficient airflow causing imcomplete combustion and our Gas supply was cut off leaving us with no heat or hot water in the coldest part of the winter. Luckily we found a specialist who diagnosed the problem, so once again a cord operated fan was installed which cured the problem! Just as a backup for windless days, and extra vent was installed through the outside wall. So we are now free again to regulate the air entering via the Vent a Matic knowing that there is an extra inlet at floor level.

Usual quality, hopefully this one lasts as long as the old one
Decent replacement for the old dusty unit it replaced, easy to fit and a direct replacement (which always helps when you have an old window).
