Very Impressive MODERN Tuner!!
Decided to buy as was on the lookout for something to cater for all my music, radio & podcast needs in one unit. Have embraced the streaming age & love to listen to a wide selection of content from both the UK & around the globe. Standard Radio tuners simply don’t cut it anymore. Amazon delivery was speedy as usual & it arrived well packaged. In the box was the main unit, remote (batteries included) and the WIFI antenna which was simple to screw into place. My first impression was how stylish it looked; Also at standard HIFI component width will complement other equipment & look good in a rack. All the controls are very well laid out. Another big plus was the amount of connection possibilities; pretty much all bases covered so it can integrate well with lots of different systems. Inputs are 3.5mm jack & it can also receive sound from a Bluetooth source such as a phone. Output wise there is the ubiquitous analogue rca (standard red/white connection) & stereo 3.5mm jack. Digital connections in the form of both optical (toslink) & coaxial There is also handy 3.5mm headphone socket. It can be connected to a variety of equipment such as, HIFI amplifier, surround sound receiver, powered speaker(s) etc... As long as your equipment has an audio input you are basically good to go!! I actually connected directly to a soundbar (the excellent Sierra plus) via an optical cable. Network connection WIFI connection was straightforward. The range of radio stations is really extensive. I’m literally finding stuff from all over the World & the ‘discover’ feature is a real boon. It’s simple to browse on either the unit or via the included remote. You can search via location & genres so if you want to find a Jazz station in say Jakarta, Well...you get the idea. There is also a superb app that you can download for your smart device called UNDOK. Podcasts: A huge selection on a whole host of topics, sure to find content for everyone!! I particularly love the fact that it remembers where I left off. Spotify: It has seamless Integration with the hugely popular music streaming service. It’s very easy to set up & navigate using your phone so definitely another big thumbs up on the connection front. If you use another service say Amazon music yo,u can still set up the Fitzwilliam 3 to receive the Bluetooth audio from a PC, Tablet, Phone etc & stream that way. Other Features: Although I would primarily advocate buying mainly for internet radio & streaming ability, it still has a number of other useful features. It supports DAB+ & FM radio (remember that!) I found that with the telescopic aerial on the back, signal quality was good for both. There is also a handy usb socket on the front that can play music & also double as a charging port. In conclusion I would say this is a very good tuner that combines very well the best of the new & the old. It should certainly meet the needs of most, whether you are looking for an upgrade from older equipment or in the market after a good value well specified model to enhance home listening. I was particularly impressed by its ease of use & informative display. Definitely recommended.

Brilliant piece of kit for the money
I have been without a good quality radio since donating a Roberts DAB to work after it suffered cosmetic damage whilst moving house, so when I spotted this, I jumped at the chance. I am aware of Majority Audio products and have always found them to be excellent quality, particularly sound quality, for an excellent price. I have been using the radio for about a week at the time of writing the review. First impressions are positive, it feels well built, solid, with a reassuring weight that the right technology is inside. It looks good, and the display is excellent, clear, and bright. In a bedroom some may find it too bright, I just screen it off. There may be a feature to dim the display, but I haven't found that yet. In the box you receive the unit, wrapped in a protective cloth layer, the remote including the batteries, an aerial for FM and the DAB radio and finally an aerial for wireless internet. The only part of this which is a negative is the telescopic aerial for FM and DAB/DAB+. No matter how I try, the aerial will not secure onto the unit tightly enough to stand upright. I am not sure if this is because I am not tightening enough (although I am tightening it as much as I physically and I am a 52 year old man with no impairments) or if there is a fault with the aerial. As my unit is in the corner of the room when I need to use it I simply prop it up against a wall, or in the corner as needed for the best sound. As most stations can be found on the internet radio, it really isn't a deal breaker. The Majority Audio Internet Radio includes internet radio, DAB and DAB+, FM, podcasts, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and USB. I am using a Bose bluetooth speaker to provide the sound, connected via a 3.5mm phono jack. Initially, I was very disappointed with the sound, although it was clear, I couldn't get any volume to it. To listen I had to put my ear to the speaker! I found a better quality cable, and the difference was incredible. The sound was certainly room filling, very clear with a good depth to the low notes and clarity to the top end. My only disappointment here is I cannot connect it to my Denon 550 soundbar which has an optical in. The unit has an optical in, I just don't have space to position the Majority Internet Radio on my TV unit at the moment. I think the sound would be amazing if played through something like that. The unit itself has multiple ways to connect including analogue audio input and output, (output cable removed for clarity of picture) analogue audio output with left and right channels, an optical output which is ideal for connecting to a soundbar and a coaxial output. There are certainly plenty of ways to connect the unit to another device. For size, the unit is similar to the old Panasonic Blu Ray recorder sat on top of it. I have tried the internet radio, mainly listening to my local station, but the breadth of choice amazing. I have also listened to DAB, which was mostly good, but probably due to the aerial issues certain stations just broke up. I have not attempted FM as that is poor at the best of times where I live. I was delighted to try the USB music player, which takes a few seconds to load and is then an excellent way of enjoying music. The Bluetooth player is also excellent, and even shows the image of what is being played. My brand new, far more expensive, Nissan Ariya doesn't do that! As I do not have a Spotify account (Deezer being my choice) I have not tried that, but I have no doubt it will sound fantastic. Having been using this for a week, I can safely say it is easy to use, with either the remote or on the unit itself. In this modern age it is brilliant that Majority have included the ability to use all the functions on the unit without the need for the remote. So often, if you lose the remote, or it packs up, you are stuck listening to just one feature of a product, but not with this. Using the unit itself is easy, just involves selecting the menu and turning the smaller of the two dials. This is a fantastic product, with multiple ways of using it. It has two alarms, which can be used with any of the features. In an area where the radio signal is poor, the internet radio is a fantastic piece of kit. Sound quality will obviously be dependent on the quality of the speaker and cables you use, but set this up correctly and you won't be disappointed. For the money, there won't a better quality unit out there.

Excellent quality product for a very affordable price
I had been looking for a hi-fi tuner for a while to pair with my Marantz PM6006 amp, so that I could play radio through my Wharfedale floorstanders. Up till now, I've only been using the limited stations available through my TV or Sky box. I didn't have the budget to spend on a streaming amp, but was also aware that tuners are harder to find these days. I was considering a couple of FM/DAB tuners, which to be fair didn't have the best reviews, when I came across the Majority Fitzwilliam 3, which not only had FM, DAB & DAB+, but Internet radio. It was clear looking at the reviews, and researching the product both online and on YouTube, that the unit came with a wealth of features which I was not expecting to find in something at this price. I was considering the Marantz PM7000N streaming system, which would have set me back £649. I'm beyond happy that I went for the Fitzwilliam 3. There are so many stations to choose from, especially on Internet radio, and operating the unit is so easy. You can spend a lot of time searching for stations around the world, but if you know what you want as a preset, you can search for your desired station, and save it in whatever order you want. The Internet radio alone has the potential for 30 presets, so that is quite a fair amount. I've found the sound of this unit paired with my amp excellent, and although the default sound is a bit flat for my taste, there are EQ settings which you can tweak to your liking, not to mention adjusting your existing amp . I have only had it a day, but am already getting so much pleasure from the wealth of channels available. The product looks great, the remote is easy to use, and the menus are very easy to navigate. I found that connecting through wifi was best when using the WPS button on my router. All in all, an excellent buy which adds a whole other dimension to my listening experience. I would highly recommend this product.

Great upgrade to an older HiFi system
A few years ago, I got a new Dab radio / CD player and I have been very happy with it, but it lacked any streaming functionality. Since then, I have been on the lookout for something to add to my unit which would add an internet radio and streaming. After a bit of research, I came across the Majority Fitzwilliam 3. The setup was very easy, I connected the Fitzwilliam 3 to my amp with a Toslink cable, and after wirelessly connecting to my router the setup was complete. The first thing I tried was the internet radio, being a fan of rock music, especially 80's rock I decided to search to see what was available, I was amazed to see the list of such a specific genre from all over the world. I picked a station and was very happy with the clarity of the sound. I saved it to my pre-sets and searched for more. The next thing I tried was the Dab Tuner, my existing system has a Dab tuner but the display is limited to text only so I was excited to see what the colour display would be like. I searched and found 69 stations; the quality was excellent every station came through very clearly. I then selected the Spotify option which prompted me to open the Spotify app on my phone, once connected I was able to search and control the system using my phone as a remote, and the sound was excellent. To my surprise the album art was displayed, this just added to the experience. Bluetooth connection was a simple task, after pressing the pair button on the remote and selecting the Fitzwilliam 3 from the list on my iPhone I was connected. I selected a track to play and the sound was flawless, and again the album art was displayed as well as the artist, album and track information. I hadn't had much experience with podcasts, but after a quick search found the BBC's Friday Rock Show podcast, and I was surprised by the quality. Something I will be using more of in the future. Connections are good, with both analogue and digital out, I have only used the Toslink digital output and the sound through my Ruark R4 is excellent. The included remote is better than expected, having buttons for various shortcuts like the sleep timer and pre-set up/down. Overall, I was very impressed with the remote as other companies rely too much on a smartphone app. There is an app available to download for free called UNDOK, which is very good if you prefer the option. Overall, I am very impressed with this radio as I didn't want to replace my old system, just bring it up to date with more modern functionality.

Great value for money
If you buy a product that promises you the Earth from a manufacturer you've never heard of and at a lower than expected price you are probably on the road to disaster but.......... I was looking for a DAB radio that would access internet radio stations but most of those available seemed to be streaming devices priced at £600-£900 and were out of reach. When I found this at a fraction of the price I was very suspicious but - desperate to hear a wider range of music - I decided to take a chance. So far I have been pleasantly surprised. The screen is a little crude but the rest of the device has a simple smart design. It was very easy to set up apart from Spotify which I eventually got to work by selecting the bluetooth mode rather than the Spotify mode ( It would probably have helped if I was more familiar with bluetooth on my phone). The number of DAB and FM stations I can access is limited in this area and I hope to solve this with an external aerial (I've had to do this with other DABs). The range of internet stations is great and the Spotify facility is useful plus I can plug in my MP3 player. Sound quality is satisfactory but not great - not up to the rest of my stereo. Its hard to say whether this is due to the current broadcast quality of current radio stations or the limitations of the unit. Overall, if you have an inexpensive hi-fi this will fit in well. If you have a more expensive hi-fi but don't mind a basic listening experience with access to a wide range of internet stations etc while saving quality listening for your CDs, records etc this is worth having - unless you can afford to pay four times as much!

Amazing bit of kit, does so much. And well!
There are so many tuners, streamers, and internet radios out there that it is all too easy to miss this little gem of a product. It does so much that, had I not read other reviews, I would have dismissed it as a gimmick. It is, however, a capable and serious performer. So, what does it do? FM tuner - feed it a standard 75 Ohm coaxial connection from an FM radio aerial and it will deliver clear stereo sound. The reception is way better than the lovely NAD tuner I had previously. DAB Tuner - from the same aerial feed, it will also find and deliver good DAB+ stations. Give it a DAB specific feed and it will deliver even more! Internet Radio - search from thousands of worldwide stations. I have found my favourite All Classical Portland, and my local station Rutland & Stamford Sound. Quality depends on your WiFi connection and the source stream bitrate, but generally, you have limitless quality 'radio' at your fingertips. Spotify streaming - open up Spotify on your mobile device, and you should be able to find the Majority Fitzwilliam as an option to stream to. Once connected, you can then stream whatever you can find on Spotify. My wife and I have 'playoffs' as we are both able to connect to the Fitzwilliam from our respective Spotify apps. Bluetooth - after all that, the Bluetooth ability feels a little pedestrian! But think about it - you can also stream whatever source you want to your HiFi, clearly and easily, as long as it has BT. Brilliant. Podcasts - as if that wasn't enough, there is a podcast searcher, however, I stream podcasts from my phone via Spotify or Bluetooth so I haven't used this feature yet. And it does all of this really well. I have a moderately specc'd HiFi system and it easily fits in with that sound quality. The interface is great. Nice, clear screen to show you what you are listening to. Setup is easy and it comes with actual physical instructions too. One minor complaint is that internet radio stations could be easier to access and browse. But once you have selected favorites, it becomes much easier. I love this tuner, although, to call it that does it no justice. You could spend three or four times more on a Cambridge Audio streamer or a NAD etc but the best bang for buck is to be found here. Very highly recommended.

In the bin
I bought this item 18 months ago to the day it started going haywire. It hasn’t seen much use in that time, but was excellent - functionality, sound, ease of use etc. - when working. A week or so ago it started rebooting itself a number of times a day, then it stopped doing that, but started to flash the whole screen every second and the device disappeared from the UNDOK app. I got in touch with Majority’s Customer Services, who were very quick to respond. I was given instructions on how to hard reset the device (and my router?!?), but this didn’t make any difference - nothing but the flashing screen. As I didn’t register the device with them within 30 days of purchase I did not qualify for their extended 3 year warranty and I was told there was nothing they could do. Proceed with caution. Mine is in the bin and I can’t see me buying any more of their kit in the future.

Exceptionally versatile audio player.
It's a great bit of kit. I've owned a variety of Majority stuff and it's been pretty good in the main. I like the portable DAB radios, I hate the remote control sensitivity on the Oakington which renders a brilliant bit of kit almost useless. The Fitzwilliam 3 has their better remote which actually works and the rest of the device is lovely. Great DAB radio and the aerial does a good job in difficult circumstances. The Internet radio is great and browsing and setting up favourites for all modes is great. Podcasts is interesting but slightly tricky to browse. Aux in uses a 3.5mm jack and it's fine. I use it for audio from a TV. Bluetooth from my laptop doesn't work that well but I'm not going to bash the Fitzwilliam for that because I don't know where the issue is. Spotify connect works perfectly and that makes it an incredibly versatile audio player. I output the audio through a pair of Genelec 6020A active monitors and it sounds great (and active speakers make this a nice, pared back setup). You do need to output to an amp or active speakers. That was a postive for me as I wanted to use a pair of decent studio monitors. This is the best piece of Majority kit I've owned and I think it's great value considering what it does.
