These emergency blankets come tightly packed individually, ideal for storing in a small pocket, rucksack, glove compartment etc. Once unpacked they open out to comfortably cover a person from head to toe as intended. That said, while it would be technically possible to fold them up again to the original dimensions, it would take a lot of care and patience to do so and they might tear in the process. Other types are more robust but may not be such a neat size before application. Having had to use one for a temporary patient on a roadside, I can vouch for their suitability in an emergency.

Can these foil blankets also keep things cold?ie: i have to take the frozen food out of my freezer for several hours ,could the foils help?

The blankets work by the metal foil content reducing the amount of heat loss from the body and reflecting it back on itself. While they might provide some measure of protection for frozen food, I think that might be short-term only. They are very thin and do not have any other insulation. They are not particularly robust, being mostly suitable for single use only, as in an emergency.
