Magnetic Project Mat - Rewritable Magnetic Work Surface for Electronics, Phone, Laptop Repair

Excellent device.

I got this for laptop repairs which I do often but always struggle with misplacing small screws. I had previously used post it notes to label screws from a repair project but they would always end up rolling around and I'd lose track of where they came from. Thanks to this new magnetic project mat that is no longer a problem for me. The magnet is not as strong as a magnetic parts dish but it is strong enough to hold all the screws commonly found in desktop computers and Laptops. The larger threaded screws are best placed heads down so they yield to the magnet more strongly, I was able to turn it 90 degrees and completely upside down without the screws falling off. The best thing about the project mat is that it's laminated so you can write on it as much as you want then just wipe clean when done, Just make sure you use dry-wipe markers only. Even though the price is a little hefty for what it is I think it's worth it especially if you frequently work on electronics and hardware repair. -Highly recommended

This is a fantastic product that is paired perfectly with ifixit's pro tech tool kit. This is great for labeling screws and other small parts that might lost or missed out during the reassembly of a phone, laptop or anything else for that matter! The only thing that I might say is that it could be a little more magnetic but it's plenty strong enough to stop screws and other odds and ends from falling on the floor.

This product arrived very well packaged from ifixit and the board it’self is very useful. Top quality and very magnetic to the point where you can lift it at a 90 degree angle and the screws are still firmly in place. Very helpful for keeping the screws organised and perfect if your doing something like phone repairs arrived very quickly and would Reccomend to anyone in need of a board for organising screws.worth every penny!

I fix things all the time and of course have a number odd old tubs, yogurt pots and frozen food trays to put the bits in. I must say this does do the job well and you can move the tray without things falling off. No it does not make screws etc magnetic but you still need the odd pot for plastic and non magnetic parts. I store my board on the side of a filing cabinet to which it attaches very well. The supplied pen is a bit of a nuisance as it requires some alcohol or similar cleaner to remove the writing. Why they couldn't supply a water based pen I don't know. One extra would to be a couple of small metal based trays of the correct size to hold non magnetic parts so for this missing part I award 4 stars. Still worth buying if the price is right!

I used this product when I disassembled/reassembled my iMac. It helped me to keep all the screws and other small metal bits in order. It was a bit expensive for one upgrade but it is definitely a no brainer for people doing such a work daily. Well thought, good adhesive strength. It is recommended.

The magnetic mat is really useful but the wipe clean pen doesn't work. The lid had come off in transit and the pen is totally dried up. I now have to buy a replacement pen.

The mat is great, good thinkness and very magnetic with nice grid layout. Only downside it the pen came with the lid loose so the pen doesn't work (dry) 4/5

El produto es perfecto. He leído algunos comentarios sobre si había que retirar el plástico transparente que lo cubre o que si tenía burbujas....pero el que yo he recibido viene perfecto. El plástico NO hay que retirarlo. Es un producto perfecto para organizar todos aquellos tornillos pequeños o piezas metálicas que retiras en cualquier reparación, ya sea de un teléfono, ordenador, etc. El imán los retiene sin que se pierdan, rueden etc... A demás incluye un rotulador de muy buena calidad para escribir sobre la alfombrilla magnética y ayudarte en la organización, pudiendo borrarlo después con el borrador incluido en el rotulador. En cuanto al tamaño he leído comentarios que opinaban que era pequeño, pero en mi opinión es una medida bastante acertada. Creo que el precio elevado del producto queda justificado por la calidad del mismo. iFixit tiene productos de calidad y a la larga es una buena inversión. Recomiendo su compra si eres una persona a la que le gusta tener perfectamente ordenado todos los elementos que vas retirando en el proceso de reparación/mejora de un producto electrónico.

Die Kombination aus hochwertiger Verarbeitung, großer Funktionalität und dem praktischen Stift macht sie zu einem unschätzbaren Helfer für alle, die gerne selbst Hand anlegen. Ich kann sie nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Il tappetino è di ottima fattura ed è magnetizzato in maniera ottima: riesce senza problemi a tenere le viti in posizione ma anche plate protettive e addirittura componenti piccoli. Estremamente comoda la possibilità di scrivere e classificare le parti. Assolutamente consigliato per qualunque riparazione che richiede precisione ed ordine.

Makes disassembling electronics a breeze. The marker was dry when I got the item but the Dollar Store had more so it was not a deal breaker. What a great product. The rubber bottom keeps it in place and the mat has a great magnet and the screws never move. The labels that you can write on the mat makes it easy to put parts back together a snap. I would recommend this to anyone that repairs electronics and needs to keep the screws organized. Love it!
