Takes hours of rinsing to remove this dye from your washing machine!
This dye worked fine, not the best, the colour was ok , dark but more greeny than grey. However it took me running my machine 9 times after the dye was added and the rinse wash was preformed on the dyed items. That 9 3hour cycles totalling 27h of washing!!! I put a colour catcher in each wash to see if the dye was still present see photos and I was shocked at the results. After cycle 3 was still grey I added bleach to the drum as stated by the website as a last resort and it turned the grey dye pink! Finally after the 9th cycle the colour catcher came out white. I’ve used Dylon machine dyes in the past and they are more expensive but definitely don’t stay in your machine as long. Thank goodness I didn’t wash my white company sheets in here without 27 h of rinsing!!! Would not recommend will not use it again. It’s cost me a fortune in running costs.

CONSIDER USING IDYE POLY RATHER THAN NATURAL AS THREAD TENDS TO BE SYNTHETIC
I practiced by dying one of my husbands white linen shirts with iDye Natural in Chartreuse which came out a very strong deep lime green. The thread did not dye but I did not notice this much in this colour. But I decided this was not the right colour for my white linen dress, so I then bought Kelly Green in iDye Natural and it came out well, however the stitching had been done in a synthetic thread and this has not dyed and is still white, so I will need to do again with iDye Poly. So I would highly recommend using iDye Poly even if the garment looks like it is completely natural as manufacturers seem to prefer using synthetic thread.

Good value. Easy to use.
Good and easy to use but doesn't soak into certain sewing threads. Would need to try.

Its ok..
This product is ok, except that the ink gets everywhere. If you find you have the slightest bit on your hand anything you touch will be stained. Also the clothing you have dyed requires a lot of washes before it is wearable and the top that i initially dyed black is actually now a navy blue. Although the colour is still nice, it wasn't the colour I wanted.

Try it...
Fantastic product, bought after reading reviews and thought I would have a go at dyeing some favourite old but discoloured microfiber teatowels and subsequently large bathroom microfiber towels and have to say that I am really really pleased with the result. If you are careful there shouldn't be a problem using this product. I used an old large saucepan 31 cm wide depth of 17cm on my induction cooker and carefully stirred this with a very large stainless steel ladle on and off for an hour then transferred it using metal utensils to a washing up bowl and then into the washing machine with a small dose of washing up powder and the results are 10/10 perfect.

Would not recommend!
I had a light grey tracksuit that had a sun damage line on it from where I’d left it in the sun to dry. As it was such a light grey I didn’t want to use trusty Dylon as the only grey they offer is a dark grey, too dark for this item and what I wanted. So after spending lots of time researching I found iDye. Found some great results on a similar shade of fabric and the colour was exactly what I was looking for. I have a front loading washer, so I looked on this company’s website and found some what were supposed to be handy tips on front loading washing. It recommended dissolving the dye first in hot water then adding it to the drum. I avoided lots of spins and the pre wash as also recommended and added 237g of salt as recommended. Worth noting as well the tracksuit weighs 800g, so well within the recommended 1.4kgs. The first time washing, there were absolutely no changes what so ever. I should have stopped there. I ran the washing machine a second time as directed. Nothing. A third time saw my tracksuit come out slightly darker but with horrid brown marks all over the place, in the most inconvenient places like for example the underarm, the crotch and the bottom 😫 After thrashing the item in the wash three times, the material has bobbled also. Can not begin to explain how disappointed I am with this product. I’ve had to go ahead and buy the dark grey Dylon to try and cover the brown stains. Ultimately this has ruined my very expensive tracksuit that I was trying to save and I’ve had to spend more to cover the damage. Maybe it’s because I have a front loading machine? Maybe if you have a top loader, the results may be better. However, for me with a 100% cotton item this was an epic fail. I would absolutely not recommend this product and I will not be buying it again, that’s for sure. I have asked for a refund and I hope that this is granted.

This is more charcoal than silver
I bought this to dye some pale grey linen curtains - I wasn't sure what material the stitching thread was and I wanted it to match and so I used half dye for man made fabrics and half this dye for natural fabrics in the same colour. The colour came out exactly the shade I wanted - a charcoal grey. This isn't really a 'silver' colour at all but I had read reviews and blogs that suggested this was a good charcoal colour. I've given this 4 stars instead of 5 simply because it is not the sort of dye you put in a washing machine - which would be far easier. I don't have a giant pan that would fit 4 full length curtains in - so I had to use the washing machine and hope for the best. The colour was a bit patchy, but once the curtains are up no one can tell unless I point it out, so I can live with it.

Très satisfaite
Rien à redire : la couleur est top, bien couvrante, pas de taches ni de marbrure... (tout ce vert est destiné à un déguisement de Hulk)
