Perfect Solution!
I have a fifteen year old rechargeable lantern that has performed solidly over the years, only to give up the ghost recently when the 'Vision' branded battery finally died (quite suddenly). New, similar spec torches are either cheap and nasty or very expensive, leaving me with the usual dilema of which way to replace a perfectly good torch (despite the failed battery). After easily removing the existing battery and noting the model/spec it was very simple to research a replacement. It appears that the original Vision battery is well respected, but the Yuasa is regarded as just as good (probably even better and certainly one of the best brands for this this type of battery). At under ten pounds the battery comes in at a quarter of the cost of buying a replacement torch. A couple of days after ordering, the battery arrived fully charged and was in the torch within minutes. Following a full charge the torch ran beautifully and brighter than I can ever remember, lasting for several hours. A perfect solution to a common problem. However, there are a couple of obvious points that I should point out to buyers in a similar situation - 1. Check compatability with regard to physical size and spec of battery (A slight difference in AH is not a problem - as this will only affect battery life between recharges). I found the new battery to be just slightly on the tight side when fitting into the torch - but it did go in. 2. Your old battery is likely to be soldered onto the wires and will need to be unsoldered or simply cut off. The new battery has solder tabs with small holes in - the wires should ideally be soldered back on, but can be fitted with bayonet clips or tightly threaded through the holes and secured by twisting tightly if there is enough slack wire. 3. These batteries (Lead Acid) are not designed to be fully discharged and will perform and last much longer if kept fully charged and topped up at all times. Certainly worth doing to salvage good torches......but please don't order before checking and removing your existing battery!

I've used Yuasa batteries for fifteen years.
I've used these batteries before, and will again. They're hard working & good value.

I've seen the light!
This battery has given a new lease of life to my Draper rechargeable torch, and was received fully charged so I could use it straight away. The old battery was only lasting for about 10 minutes even after a full charge, whereas this one gives at least 30 minutes of illumination at full brightness. Its capacity is slightly lower than the one it replaced (4Ah as opposed to 4.5Ah) but it's physically exactly the same size and performs better despite the lower rating. The torch itself was a different matter, though, with corroded wiring, dry solder joints, badly crimped spade connectors, and faulty switch- I pretty much had to re-build the whole lamp to make it work properly! Yuasa really is a top quality brand for batteries, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. Delivery was a little slow, but this was probably down to the time of year. I'm coming back to my review after 2 years to mention that my battery is now not working as well as it used to. It's started self-discharging, and doesn't last as long as it used to between charges. I've knocked a star off, as I think two years is rather a short life for a battery from such a good manufacturer.

Quality product fast dispatch and quick standard delivery.
This came very quickly and fitted the bill as expected. It is used in a hand lamp. The old Sonnenschein battery lasted altogether about 30 years - hope this one lasts as well. (I have to use a Krypton bulb which comes with a max voltage rating of about 5.4V. these are usually supplied for torches with dry cell batteries with a much higher internal resistance than a lead acid one. This means you have to add a resister in so the battery doesn't burn out the bulb - for interested people be aware if that!) I bought this because I know Yuasa has a good reputation though there are much cheaper ones around. I look forward to an excellent service from this one

Excellent Quality Battery
Bought to replace the batteries in my grandchildren's electric police bikes as the cheapo ones fitted had carked it. And by some margin a far better battery and performance overall. Of course these toy bikes are not there to burn up the roads but its nice if you get a bit of operating time out of them - which is now possible with a better quality battery. Yuasa is of course a well known brand of good quality batteries and many a motorcyclist will know them for sure. This size battery is commonly used for alarm systems and in that role would last a long, long time if charged correctly. Used in electric toys the lifespan will be reduced simply because the charging is not going to be done perfectly, however for 11 quid the smiles on my granddaughter and grandson make the small cost even smaller. So if you are in the market for this size battery then look no further. The seller delivered quickly as well and the packaging was not the usual outrageous container sized box either so a slight nod to the environment.

A bit better than cheaper alternatives.
This is an amendment to my review which I originally left after 8 months successful use, now at 12 months. Paid £9.61 in November 2014. Replacement battery for our Vax Libretto dustbuster. We have had two other cheaper alternatives which have all started to hold much less charge after about 6 months then almost nothing with a couple of months after that. The original battery was the same - a common problem with this model of dustbuster apparently. This Yuasa battery lasted slightly better, that is the battery started to fail at just under 12 months of use.
