What units is the tyre pressure guage calibrated in e.g bars, psi, kpa?

Do not waste your cash on this kit, it is utter rubbish, the pressure gauge was way out and the depth gauge was so loose it was impossible to work with.

Is it ministry approved

I think it is but not 100% I got one for trips to southern Ireland, never used as yet but from an engineering point of view I think it is a good but.

Are they metal or plastic?

Yes they are plastic but heavy gauge by the looks. It is one of the best "little" pumps I have had performs very well and I would recommend it.
