D-Link DIR-890L AC3200 Tri-Band Gigabit Cloud Router

Incredible router. Everybody says its not good or hard to set up but i can assure you it is very easy and Excelent. The lan speed is very high, 270-280 Mb out of 300 from Virgin, but this also depends on your pc configuration and all that, BUT the wireless is mindblowing. Gone from 120- 150 Mb on Virgin router to 380-390Mb on D-link.(and i am talking about my phone). 4k streaming on pc is flawless.

Bought to improve range in a large house replacing Bt hub . We have found no real difference

The router works well, and it is fast. The admin console interface is simple and has all the features expected for a router. What I didn't like was the fact that it doesn't have any logging. It only allows to log on a remote log server (what?)... I also don't understand why they created two ways of doing the same thing, the Port Forwarding and Virtual Servers. If you don't know what port forwarding is: it is a way to access from the outside network (internet for example) to specific servers of your internal network. For example streaming cameras, web server, game consoles, etc. So having the two options, where Port Forwarding does not allow you to choose different ports and Virtual Servers allows to do it, I don't see the point and makes it even more confusing. On the very positive note: I had some difficulties with that feature of the Virtual Servers, and the support of D-Link replied back very quickly. They didn't help me to fix the problem, but they replied back quickly and that made me react quicker and found the problem myself (was a misconfiguration of the internal device).

Whether there was an issue with my router I don't know, but the wireless signal was appalling. It was worse the the much maligned BT infinity 5 modem/router I was replacing.I dont live in some sprawling manor, 2 bedrooms semi detached bungalow! and signal dropped remarkably in sons bedroom. Approx 40 feet from router. Ridiculous. Returned and purchased Asus RT-N56U, wow, amazing, great software and superlative performance. Best of all? 130quid cheaper, and doesn't resemble something off Battlestar Galactica Summing up, the D-Link is a classic example of style over substance.

Easy to setup as it guides you through setting up your network (an upgrade of software in the middle quickly done).. With a Virgin Hub you only then have to switch off the wifi and that's it done. From getting 60Mb I was getting 200Mb for part of the day. That evening could not connect so hard rebooted. Same the next day. 3rd day I managed to connect long enough to set up a guest service then had access until the evening again. Day 4 boxed up and back to Amazon. I note another customer had the same issues and Dlink charge via a 0871 to resolve any problems and they have not responded to logging a fault. Comments on a US site about issues but not paying a king's fortune to sort out their issues. Nice when it worked but a waste of a long weekend for me. UPDATE: Item was boxed and ready to go but posting on here meant that I did not have time to take it to the Post Office. At 1815 DLink replied to my fault and gave a link to a newer version (strange way to run a helpdesk as I used to look for the easy fixes to get my figures moving up for the day). Unsurprisingly it was a link to a newer firmware version (1.11). One would also wonder why this is not on the website. I have initially installed it working alongside the VM (just in case - I have kids off school howling at me) as I have a life to live but will give a further update later in the week once it is fully up and singing. I will upgrade this to 2 stars for now but let's see how it goes.

I'm writing this 2 months after purchase and I haven't had to reboot it once, it's been rock solid and the performance has been excellent. Where I was previously getting 4 bars, I now get 5 and where the signal was patchy it's now much better. The look is probably the router equivalent of Marmite, it's big and looks like something out of an episode of Stargate, but I like it. Edit. I've now been running it for 19 months with no problems. I can count the number of times that I've had to reboot it on the fingers of one hand and still have enough fingers left to say goodnight to my boss. I've run an ethernet cable through to the living room and connected it to an ethernet switch and it's currently connecting 5 smart devices to the internet. In addition there are multiple devices connected to it via wifi, including my PC which runs pretty much 24/7.

Totally changed how my home works. All devices run better and faster than my old virgin superhub 2. Got this for ps4 pro and xbox one x which need open nat types. Couldn't get that with virgin router. Now gaming has totally changed open nat type all the time. Amazing. Wish I had done this a long time ago......

My Dell Studio XPS will not connect to this router.

Este router es espectacular. Lo he comprado para sustituir a mi antiguo Netgear que se había quemado. Su alcance es muy bueno y la velocidad que da por Wifi triplica la que tenía a traves de mi antiguo Netgear, ademas tiene un diseño muy bonito y futurista. Apenas se calienta al exigirle al máximo.

Super matériel... Très facile à connecter, fonctionne de suite quasi "plug and play "... Paramétrage très facile. Excellente portée Wi-Fi mais pas aussi forte que prevue ( suffisante pour environ 100m2 , mais D-Link précise que cela est très variable en fonction du positionnement de l'appareil et des murs etc...) vitesse super. même avec plusieurs appareil en même temps (tablette, ordinateur, etc...) inscription à My D-link + cloud facile. Attention toutefois l'adresse IP de connection au routeur n'est pas bonne.. donné dans la doc le 192.168.0.1 alors que la bonne est 192.168.100.1 Très satisfait et livraison Amazon toujours impeccable ...!

Endlich .... nach sehr langer Suche - viel Zeitinvestition - alle sogenannten "Platzhirsche" wurden probiert, mit dem Erfolg, dass wirklich ALLE von den bekannten und viel gelobten Geräten bei mir irgendwie eine oder gleich mehrere Macken gehabt haben - zb W-LAN Abbrüche - geringe Reichweite - Instabilität - Einfrieren - kein Zugriff mehr auf Weboberfläche (aufgehängt) - schlechte Bedienungsoberfläche - usw. usw. kurz - unsere Nerven lagen blank und ich konnte das Wort Netzwerkeinrichtung/Router nicht mehr hören. Mein Mann hat aber nicht aufgegeben. Dank Amazon konnten wir auch problemlos alle Geräte wieder zurückgeben. Die nun allerletzte Möglichkeit war für mich/uns nun dieser D-LINK AC 3200 DIR 892L Ultra Smartbeam Router. Schnell wie immer geliefert, kam das Gerät in einer sehr anspruchsvollen und stabilen Verpackung bei mir an. Er wog mehr als die anderen Geräte, macht aber im Gegensatz zu denen mächtig viel her - also alleine von der Optik bekommt er schon mal 5 Sterne - ein echter Hingucker. Mit seiner Form, Grösse und den 6 Antennen sieht er aus wie ein UFO - echt toll. Ich dachte mir - wenn er genauso gut funktioniert wie er aussieht und verarbeitet ist, dann ist es MEIN Gerät. UND, was soll ich sagen - ER IST ES! Er funktioniert tadellos, hat eine absolut wirklich einfach erklärende Benutzeroberfläche, die sich leicht konfigurieren lässt und sehr übersichtlich aufgebaut ist. Einrichtung funktionierte problemlos. Man sieht übersichtlich angeordnete Strukturen und findet sich im Menü wirklich sehr leicht hier zurecht. Ein wenig Ahnung sollte man aber schon haben, aber so schwer ist es auch nicht. Vorweg - wir wohnen in einem Reihenhaus - 2 Etagen verteilt, das Gerät steht oben - und hier wurde auch nicht mit Stahlbeton und Stahlzargen gespart. Die anderen von mir getesteten Geräte hatten trotz vollmundiger Versprechungen der Werbung und Tester wirklich grosse Probleme, die Performance zu erreichen und vor allem zu halten. Was mir gleich aufgefallen ist, die Reichweite dieses Gerätes kann sich wirklich sehen lassen. Jedenfalls bei unserer örtlichen Gegebenheit wesentlich höher als bei manchen Vergleichsprodukten UND vor allem bis jetzt (hoffe es bleibt so, sonst gibt's einen Nachtrag hier) sehr STABIL - keine Abbrüche. Ich hatte hier gleichzeitig mal so mit einem LG G3 - einem Toshiba PC - einem ASUS Tablet und mit einer VU+ULTIMO (Mediaplayer - Linux Receiver) TV in HD gestreamt - von einer NAS Synology Musikvideos gestreamt - im Internet gesurft und mit PC ein Online Spiel (WOW) gespielt, es gab keinerlei Ruckler oder Aussetzer. Alles hat er mit QOS, so wie von uns eingestellt wurde, tadellos verteilt. Wir sind hier echt von diesem Gerät begeistert und können es jedem wirklich empfehlen. Trotz des relativ hohen Anschaffungspreis ist er jeden Euro wert! TOP!

Ich kann mich anderen Rezensenten nur anschließen: Nach einer Suche, die ca. zwei Jahre dauerte, habe ich endlich das Gerät gefunden, das unsere Bedürfnisse abdeckt. Die Sendeleistung war das wichtigste Kriterium, da diese in einem Einfamilienhaus mit viel verbautem Stahl durchaus leiden kann. Das 5G-Netzwerk nutzen wir parallel zum 2,4G-WLAN, und die Geräte verbinden sich gemäß Signalstärke mit dem einen oder dem anderen Netzwerk, wenn man die SSID gleich benennt. Die Leistung in der Horizontalen ist großartig, naturgemäß leidet diese jedoch in der Vertikalen, wobei das 5G-Netzwerk in der Vertikalen komplett versagt. Daher ist der parallele Betrieb sehr sinnvoll. Im zweiten Stock haben wir daher immer noch eine gute Sendeleistung über das 2,4G-WLAN. Die Web-Oberfläche des Routers ist intuitiv und gut zu bedienen. Einige wichtige Dinge wie VPN-Client-Modus (Verbindung des Routers zu einem VPN-Server über OpenVPN) und das Verbinden des Routers zu einem anderen Router bzw. AP über WLAN fehlen, aber man kann das nachrüsten, indem man DD-WRT oder Ähnliches installiert. Momentan sehe ich noch von DD-WRT ab, solange die Software des Routers (noch) durch den Hersteller unterstützt und aktuell gehalten wird. Die Verbindungsgeschwindigkeit zum WLAN ist großartig und extrem schnell, wenn man diesen Router mit günstigen Alternativen vergleicht. Daher bin ich voll und ganz zufrieden, und unsere Suche hat endlich ein Ende. Alternativen in der gleichen Preisklasse können dem D-Link DIR-890L nicht das Wasser reichen. Für alle, die sich ein Ende der Odyssee herbeisehnen.

Routeur/point d'acces rapide à mettre en route. Bonne connexion et débits phénoménaux (30 Mo/s) dans un rayon proche, ce qui permet de faire des sauvegardes time machine wifi! Pas de latence sur lairplay de la freebox, connexion hyper stable, débits corrects mais pas miraculeux quand on s'éloigne.
