i have 2 bucklers, this ne and a steel one. this is light, durable and comfy in the hand. great for training and use with synthetic blades. Cold steel never disappoints. highly recommended and a better price than most other places

well its a buckler
So this was kinda a impulse buy as i was looking towards selfdefense weapons on youtube and a video with this came along. For any one that like me live in a country where protecting yourself in your own home could mean having to go to jail because of what you use, this is a great. I have been using my friend as a test dummy and it works great. I dont even call it a buckler anymore i call i a free strike, because it opens up the guy in front of you every time. And if the laws in your country are better then mine and you still dont want to use a gun then unless the intruder is on drugs nobody are gonna charge you with this infront of you and a machete/hammer or bat in the other hand. Even with your bare hands it gives you a change to open him up for the first strike and 9 out of ten times thats what wins the fight. So buy it, practice with it and go full dark knight on their asses :)

Nice weight in the handle yet rather nimble
A solid molded buckler. Nice weight in the handle yet rather nimble. Although designed for non-metal contact, I would feel comfortable sparring against blunt metal weapons with it at the expense of having it scratched and dented up - if absolutely required (but not recommended in case it does fail) It is basically impervious to the elements and practically indestructible in normal use. The buckler is made up of two main parts: the handle and the shield. It appears that the handle is not only held in place to the shield by metal bolts and nuts, but it is also bonded (may epoxied). I found this out as I was curious to see if the handle was detachable by removing the metal bolts - it was not. Note that I purchased this when the price was lower at £33.48. It is now sold by Amazon UK at £37.20 at the time of writing this sentence.

Real shield
There’s videos on YouTube showcasing this, but this is a real shield capable of withstanding significant blows. It will not be cut through, crushed, or shattered. Definitely not a novelty. It feels good to hold, very efficient for HEMA sports or whatever you may be interested in using it for

Strong and sturdy
As to be expected from Cold Steel - strong and durable. Takes the hits well from both blunted blades and poly training weapons.

is a great product. firm
Costs the exact same amount as you'd find it on Cold steel, but with cheaper, potentially free and comparably quick delivery. If amazon offered the full cold steel selection, the Cold-steel website would likely go out of buisness. this buckler, by the way, is a great product. firm, solid and with the over-design that cold steel practices, it's easily as good as a steel one and about half the price.

easily able to shrug off the most enthusiastic blow from ...
It's a polypropylene buckler for use in western swordsmanship along with the swords from cold steel. The buckler is hefty, easily able to shrug off the most enthusiastic blow from a partner. I've had mine now for about a month, other than a few scuffs from transport and storage, it's in great shape.
