Stihl Genuine 5605 007 1027 Stihl Filing Kit for 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch Picco Chain

Really well-designed and well-made set. Good quality steel in each file and in the file-holder. The cover closes with 2 snap fasteners and velcro strap. It also has a loop for attaching to your belt and a list inside containing information on chains and how to sharpen them. Stihl have excelled themselves with this kit. Would give it 6 stars if possible. Note: The steel in the depth gauge is softer than the files, so remove the gauge before filing and then reposition it to check again.

Used it as soon as it's been delivered. It does work well, my chainsaw was blunt and after sharpening it worked to perfection

Much cheaper than a new chain. Very easy to use. Highly satisfying when a dull chain is revived to its usual wood-ripping glory, after five minutes of therapeutic filing. Well worth it.

This could be a 5-star design. However, the design and installation of the file shaft let it down. But it does generate more income for Stihl. When you consider this as a push file pressed through a hardened, offset, thin blade, the flimsy file shank is liable to fail. As it will if dropped. Both render the made-to-measure file useless. The file shank either needs to be much more robust and/or buried much deeper so the file handle butts to the file guide for additional support.

Good file if you know how to use them. Keeps my chainsaw nice and sharp. Was half the price of the shop I normally use

Sthil chainsaw sharpener,, brilliant for the money,, I've bought so meny sharpeners for more money and they were rubbish and don't work or last, bought this simple and aqurate, just like me

Expected good quality and initially seemed so. Then found that the round file has begun to bend. Still holding but expect it will snap off at the handle pretty soon

I got this to sharpen the chain on a black an decker chainsaw with a 40 cm chain. The only hard bit is getting the right set to match the chain once thats done its straight forward. As it happened i needed to get a new chain as mine was buggered as a lot of the teeth had snapped off. Now i have this tho an know how to use ill sharpen the new one frequently. I did aharpen my current one an it did make a big difference in that it cut again but it was too far gone ti save it. It does come with picture instructions an looks very neat. If you have a chain saw id get this as it makes things so much easier

Travaux de bûcheronnage non pro. Abattage, ébranchage et débitage principalement de chêne. Tronçonneuse Husqvarna de 40cm et tronçonneuse électrique de 35cm. Kit très pratique et surtout qui fait le boulot proprement en permettant de garder le bon angle sans effort. La différence entre avant et après affûtage est plus que nette. À demeure ma ceinture porte-outils !

Bought this on 19 December, 2023 for ₹530. First, thanks to STIHL for making this set available at a reasonable cost. Strangely, other brands are all over 1.5k, some of them much higher. They are most probably imported. My 18 inch chainsaw was not cutting properly even after sharpening the teeth. Only after seeing a video on sharpening did I learn of the need to also lower the depth gauge on the chain by filing it. I had been only sharpening the Side Plate Cutting Edge on the chain so it was not making good contact with the wood. I sharpened my Chainsaw on the kitchen counter which took around 10 minutes and went to work on a coconut tree. Cut like butter. It comes with a textless instruction pamphlet, but do watch a video on chainsaw sharpening just so that you understand why you are doing what you are doing. It will make you a better sharpener. Although, after using it only once, I cannot guarantee durability in long term use, for now this seems like a very good product.
