iSpring WSP-50SL Reusable Whole House Spin Down Sediment Water Filter Softener, Includes Siliphos Helps Prevent Scale and Corrosion, 1" MNPT + 3/4" FNPT, 50 Micron

This is a surprisingly "beefy" little unit - heavy duty glass container with heavy brass top and well constructed filter which is fairly easy to clean. Simple and straight-forward installation which was quite easy (they even provided some Teflon Tape!). Overall, I'm very impressed with this unit so far and will buy another for my camp house assuming I've encountered no problems after 3 months constant use (only been 40 days since I installed this). I installed this unit ahead of my cartridge filters and there is no doubt in my mind that it will significantly extend their life based on the amount of contaminants/sediment it has already prevented from reaching them - UGH!!!. I purchased the unit with the "Siliphos" filter because I have EXTREMELY hard water and the "Siliphos balls" inside the filter are supposed to help reduce hardness. I can't honestly say just yet how effective they are in reducing hardness and scale because I believe this might take some time to truly be effective. I'll update this aspect of my review after 90 days or so use. My only complaint with this unit is that I wish a mounting bracket were included or at least available for purchase to support it. There's no issue if you are installing it in rigid piping of any kind that is properly supported on either side of this unit BUT if that is not the case and one or both sides are connected to flex piping, the installation doesn't appear as neat and professional. I've not experienced any leaks so far, but it is a concern in the back of my mind over time as the piping is already sagging and I'm trying to determine the best way to support it (ie; can't strap pipe directly to the wall because you need room around the filter to be able to use the supplied wrench to remove the filter canister. I'll add some photos of my solution for this (assuming I find one).

This is a fantastic “pre-filter” to remove sediment from my well. I purchased the 50 micron but it was clogging far too often and I had a significant drop in water pressure. I called the seller/manufacturer and spoke with Nick. He was extremely helpful and actually sent me a 100 micron filter to try for free! So far, so good! I see some other reviews mention leaking and difficulty with the teflon tape but I didn’t have any problems like those at all! The unit takes next to no space and is filtering sediment as intended! Highly recommended!

I purchased the WSP-50SL. Great addition. You can taste and smell the difference as soon as you install it. I also purchased two [Push fit 3/4 inch x 1 inch], one on each side of the spin down sediment filter. Even though they recommend putting the filter as the first stage, I installed my spin down filter “after” the 3 stage whole house filter. I figure it is a final stage filter (50 micron) I can clean easily and notice when too much debris is getting through the 3 stage filter, while will indicate that the filters need replacing. Easy install.

Leaks occasionally at the drain port. The nipple/spout is loose and this is how it is designed. I have purchased 2 over the past few years. Overall I am pleased with the product and use it along side their other filters for my home well system.

I’m using this in front of an iSpring three cartridge system. We are on a well and bought the 50 micron, I had an issue early on… I called customer service and Nick immediately diagnosed it in 30 seconds as the 50 was too small for well water and sent me a new 100 micron screen AT NO COST! Cannot say enough about the customer service. It’s the whole reason I bought iSpring products I advise if you have any issues with their products you simply call customer service and they will take care of you Could not be happier with the performance of the 100 micron screen I check it once a week and I’ve cleaned it once since I’ve put it in it’s a great system and it saves my sediment filter from larger particles

I have extreme amount of sediment from my well which was causing, along with 'hard water' many issues with plumbing- from wear and tear on fixtures to water heater. This unit solved many issues at once. It really does soften your water and reduce buildup. It does have to be emptied or flushed weekly. It's also a good idea to turn the ball-valve water before the unit off, flush it and actually take it apart to clean inside the screen. I didn't know that and my water pressure was just dwindling (who wants to take a shower in a trickle??). Taking it apart and cleaning out inside took care of it completely. Highly recommend.

I was a little skeptical when I first received this product and installed it ahead of a 3-stage filtration system & UV-light treatment tube, but after a month of use I am impressed with how well this filter works! I made sure to properly tighten & seal connections to prevent leaks, based on other reviewers’ experiences. It does a great job of filtering out sediment and other crap from our well water, and it is very easy to clean. Because of its smaller size, I clean it once a week to ensure best performance and proper water pressure. We have a 1-inch water line and it does handle volume quite well as long as its kept clean. Cleaning takes about 10 minutes total, as I use an old soft-bristled toothbrush and clean water in a bucket to clean it on-site, and the total time includes time to de-pressurize the supply line. This product is very well built and easy to service; I highly recommend it to anyone with a well or questionable water supply. Just be prepared to clean it every 1-2 weeks, depending upon your water quality; but in spite of this, it is worth it when you see how much clearer your water will be.

I purchased an iSpring whole house water filter system last year. It was installed by a local plumber and it's easy to maintain. I like the fact that clean water is available throughout my house so I can use it to drink and for cooking straight from the faucet. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a water filter system. Francis helped me register my system for future reference.

Excelente filtro, fácil mantenimiento y lo mejor es que se puede detectar cuando se acumulan sedimentos, el filtro es lavable permitiendo manter limpio el sistema. Es cierto que el costo es mayor que un filtro normal, pero los beneficios son mucho mayores, una buena compra.

In June 2021 we installed the iSpring's WGB32B full house water system along with their Spin Down filter (WSP 50 Micron) and UV Light (UVF55) at our family cottage. We have experienced quite a significant change in water quality since this system has been installed (almost 18 months now). Everyone in the extended family who use the cottage all are totally impressed with the fantastic taste, no Sulphur smell, and reduced hardness of the water now, i.e., no more bottled water needed! This includes our elderly parents who had many negative effects from the original well water and now they love the water at the cottage – they say it is even better than their city water. An additional benefit of this new system is that there is no more staining of the kitchen and bathroom fixtures (i.e., sinks, tub, and toilet). As for iSpring's customer service, they are top notch (thanks again Francis). They were very helpful in our original investigation/design questions, responded very quickly with an issue of a broken filter during shipping (they expedited us a new filter right away), and gave great support figuring out a low water pressure issue (which happened to be just the Spin Down filter getting dirty … and with iSpring's help we were able to easily clean the filter and get the pressure back to normal – I guess we used to always just drink that well sediment before; yuck). Note, as a DIYer with some past DIY plumbing experience, this system was a very straight forward and easy install. Remember to install a flow meter at the exit of the system so you can keep track of how much water is going through to know when to change the filters (i.e., 100,000 US gallons). We always recommend this system to anyone we know who is looking for a similar great water supply solution.

Bought this as the first stage of a whole home filter unit, this is primarily just to keep large particles from getting into my water softener and it works well. I did not notice any pressure drop when using it on 3/4” copper mainline into my house and it does build up with scale etc that comes in m[from my utility. I like it.

I installed this product as a pre-filter before my filtering and UV system - it was easy to install (assuming you know how to do some plumbing) and worked great. My main concern is how quickly it clogged but this was more due to my well sending larger sediment than expected. I switched from 50 micron (make sure to clean it every month or so) to 500 before the 50. During this i go great service from Sean that not only suggested solution but also is sending me free screens to alter and try. Recommending the product abs service.
