The product had serious issues that included a bendy blade, a serrated edge that shredded paper, and the fact that it required me to use two hands to make cuts. After posting my original review I returned the item without contacting the seller. After seeing my review, they actually reached out to me and put in an amazing effort to fix my issues, going above and beyond. Good customer service goes a long way in making a product worth the cost and in this case, they took this product from a 1 to a 5-star item. After reaching out to me and letting me know they saw and read my review, they noted the issues that I mentioned and worked super hard to fix them. They talked with their design team and ended up sending me different blades as well as a new base to test it out on. They sent me two types of blades, a serrated and a flat. I’ve attached a photo showing the three blades. The furthest to the left is the new serrated, the middle is the original blade that shipped with the unit, and the right is the flat blade. As you can see, the original blade is hollow in the center which led to the bending. The new blades are super high-quality, sturdy and durable. I ended up using the flat blade as it’s a better fit for my needs. The flat blade gives me crisp and clean lines. I’ve attached a photo of a tear that I made with the flat blade installed. I was able to make the tear with a single hand and it came out perfectly. If you’re looking for a product that has amazing customer service behind it and a really high-quality product that will last a lifetime, this is it. I’ll leave my original review posted below, but my mind has completely been changed and I’m in love with this product now. ***Original Review: I ordered this paper roll cutter to use for trimming large rolls of butcher paper for sublimation. It does not work for my needs at all. The serrated cutter doesn’t gently cut the paper in a small zigzag pattern; it shreds the paper like shark teeth about a quarter inch deep. I’ve attached photos of the “best” cut I was able to get. Most of the practice cuts I attempted all ended with the paper tearing around ¾ of the way down the page. The only way to stop the paper from tearing is to hold down the bar the entire time you’re using it. This means that it can only be used with two hands. Half the point of getting a paper roll cutter is that you can do it with one hand. This defeats the purpose. For the current price of around $43, I was expecting this cutter to be well made with high-quality and sturdy materials. Admittedly, the base is sturdy, but the serrated cutting blade is flimsy and bends easily. After repeated use, I can only imagine it would permanently bend and become unusable. Putting this together isn’t difficult and can easily be done by a single person with only a screwdriver. Unfortunately, a lot of putting it together requires you to look at the photos of the product and use a little imagination. The instructions are awful and the included photos are difficult to make out. It doesn’t mention blade orientation or attaching the non-slip feet at all. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this paper cutter to anyone. It does hold large rolls and the base is sturdy, but at best it’s an expensive paper roll holder. The cutting blade is useless, bends, and shreds and rips the paper far more often than cutting it. You can’t use it with a single hand and it’s more expensive than other options available without any added functionality.

This is a very good paper cutter. It makes my shipping job a lot easier and can be used tabletop or mounted on the wall. It's the perfect size and is well-constructed and easy to use.

This cutter takes practice to use, but DOES work! I rip from left to right by holding paper level in both hands, and then raising my left hand and lowering my right, while pulling gently at an angle - am typically able to cut paper without rips for my cages! I have it placed on counter - would be way too awkward and heavy to hang on wall with the really large and heavy roll I am using, in my opinion....

I purchased this to use for my templates that I make for my direct to food printer. I purchased a large 18" roll of white paper. I just wanted to mention that this was a replacement. The first time I ordered this, one of the rods where the screw goes in was stripped and I couldn't get it to fit, so I had it replaced. This one went to together much easier. It comes with the hardware to put it together and to screw it down on a surface if that is what you desire. I didn't need that. I have it setting on my table to use it. The cutting blade is not sharp at all, and I totally understand why, as that could be a safety issue. However, that being the case, it does not tear the paper off very cleanly. However, if you are using for food, then it should be just fine.

Solid unit that performs well with my coated butcher paper. When my cutter first arrived I was missing the hardware to put it together. I reached out to DIY and quickly received a response back from Luisa. Within a couple days I received a completely new product, this time all the pieces were there. Awesome customer service and a great product. Luisa continued providing updates the whole time until I responded back saying the product with good to go. Purchase with confidence that DIY will take care of you no matter what!

Easy assembly. Seems to be very stable and sturdy. Using mostly waxed freezer paper. Cuts or tears easily and cleanly using straight edge. Have not used serrated edge. Not needed for what I do. Very pleased with dispenser. Works well.

I am impressed with this roll holder; it feels heavy-duty, and I have a heavy roll on it, and it keeps up with shipments.

The assembly of this paper roll dispenser was relatively easy, all you need is a screwdriver but the paper instructions were horrible. They do have a youtube video on their channel which explains the construction far better, I recommend watching that for a clearer idea. I am an entry level person who puts these things together so even having an official youtube tutorial was a nice touch. To get a clean rip I recommend pulling it to the desired length, holding each edge with either hand and tugging up and away in one direction until free. I recommend this dispenser, the multiple forms either tabletop or mounted also give you more options for a decent price and relatively easy build.

Had to order this from the States. Took a few weeks to arrive. It only fits 30cm wide rolls. Anything larger won't fit. This is solid and holds the paper well. The spring grip is very strong. The blade is not really a blade. Its just a very smooth straight edge. Doesn't move when you tear the paper off. My only gripe - and its a minor one, is that you have to manually move the paper roll to get an edge after the previous cut. No biggie. This can be wall mounted (fixings come included) but I keep mine on my work table.

Works really well, sturdy and well-made for the price. I use this for cutting paper for wrapping bouquets and it takes so much less time than cutting the paper with scissors. It's made bouquet-making SO much more efficient.
