Will they work with a supermarket carrier bag?

They will work with any bag that has the right circumference. If the bag is small, it will not clip all around and therefore will hang down and could slip off.

Where is this item made

I have no idea, I’m afraid, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Four fixing points tear the bag once there’s any weight in it. I’ve since seen a better design, made of recycled marine plastic, with two concentric rings that distribute the weight equally.

Is it meant to come with the belt strap as I didn’t received the strap with mine?

It is a while since we ordered this item, from memory I do not recall it coming with a belt strap

what litre bin bags work well with this?

As this is a smaller hoop, it can accommodate large or small bags. I'd go for larger. With bags, you get what you pay for, and it depends what's going in them. Thin bags holding heavy weight will start to pull away from the 5 clips. This isn't really a problem, more a signal to the user that they need a new bag!
