Q: Would this be suitable for a 5 yr old or is it a bit basic?

Yes Louise, I bought this for my 5yr old grandson. The globe could be called 'basic' in as much as the continents simply click in place, but it is more about the level of the child's knowledge of geography and wildlife (also marked on the globe) at that age. We saw that he found it interesting when first playing with it and believe it improved his knowledge, in readiness for when world geography comes up in class at school.

Q: Why does this not show Antartica which is the 7th continent?
