Does this work for severe/cystic acne?

No it didn't work for my daughter, she ended up on antibiotics for months after trying lots of expensive products including this one that didn't work or help.

What's the best way to put this on? Squeeze it on a scrunchy and rub?

it does not really lather, so i would exfoliate the affected area with a "scrunchy" and then after rinsing. put a generous amount on the palm of your hand and rub the affected area. let it sit on skin for about and minute or two before rinsing off.

Does it have exfloiating beads or is it a smooth gel/lather ?

It's a smooth clear liquid,not a thick gel but also not too runny.You don't have to use too much as a small amount on a sponge goes a long way.

Does this bleach clothing?

I don't think so. It's not really strong enough to affect clothing. I've never had any issues with it, it is completely clear and has little to no smell. Has cleared up my acne well
