When I gave this 5 stars and the review below for ridiculously good value (November 2021) it was £3.79, but as of December it has gone up by a whopping £2.16 in just a month - a hike of 36.3%. Hence the slashing of two stars. For the price this is a ridiculously good beanie, and the easiest 5-stars I've ever given. Some reviewers have said build quality isn't the best and theirs haven't lasted too well (not sure what they're doing with them, mind), but I can buy 7.5 of these for what I paid for my North Face beanie - and it's just as warm and comfortable. And if it does fall apart in three months, I don't really care, as I have just bought a few more!

Value for money good price. But the product itself wasnt impressive. Once its on your head you can see white specs of filler/fabric seeping through the black hat. It looks like dandruff ;-( Worse still the hat is loose looks bit on your head, possibly due to stretchy fabric used to produce it.

I've worn this hat a few times now on some of the chillier mornings that we've had lately. I find that it is an incredibly warm and very comfortable hat, with plenty of room. The top half of the inside of the hat has a sort of fine fleece layer on the inside and is a woven layer below that which gives your head even more insulation and comfort. That “woven” layer of material can be folded up and over quite a bit to create quite a wide turned-up band at the bottom of the hat. Or not folded over so much which leaves a pocket of air above your head (if that makes sense) and it is trapped air that keeps you warm. I noticed that some reviewers found the hat to be too small which is a shame if that is what their hat was like, but the one that I received was plenty big enough. I bought the hat directly from Amazon and not from a third-party seller for what it is worth?

The thermal hat for me has too much stretch, it sits on my head too loosely, I prefer a more fitting hat. I’m not sure what more I was expecting, it’s just a normal hat with fleece lining. I don’t have another hat to hand to compare it to, but it is definitely warm.

If you like your winter hats to feel like you're wearing a pair of boxer shorts on your bonce, this is the perfect hat for you. The material is very thin and stretchy, and loose around the folded band. I've worn it for 5 minutes and it's already loosening up further. It's practically sliding off. I can already tell how bad it'll be after a wash. Yes, the upper part of it is lined with a sort of faux "thinsulate"ish material but that is the only (half) redeeming feature. In short, this will do as a spare hat, but you'll need to keep looking if you want one that'll feel "right", and keep the back of your neck, and your ears warm. Mine didn't even come with the red label as pictured (it is black) - not overly important but worth mentioning.
