So I bought this one to replace my broken gaiwan and honestly this one is fantastic its thick enough to kind of mask the heat using it properly you won't get burned. The day I got it I dropped it accidentally and it held up its really durable. I went with the standard red clay look and it looks amazing. Holds temperature really well and it's very well crafted it fits really well in the hand and super easy to use.

This is a nice small gaiwan. It’s just the right size for a personal tea session. If you have a medium sized hand then it should be a good fit. I personally couldn’t have picked a better gaiwan. This one fits my hand like a glove. Also it has a nice texture on the outside (I ordered the terra-cotta colored one) that makes for a good grip so that it doesn’t slip out of your hand while pouring. Also, this one has a perfectly fitted lid. One thing to keep in mind is the milliliters of this one. If you’re not familiar with the metric system then this one is about a standard unit of 1 cup. Other than that it seems like it’s well made. I have not complaints. I think it was a good deal for the price. Five stars to the makers of this cute little guy👍🏼👍🏼

The description of this gaiwan says 130ml, but the usable amount is only 90ml. Reading closer, it states 4oz, much smaller than 130ml. For the price, it is a nice piece. The lid fits well, and the inside glaze is even—very nice for a mass-produced piece.

The contrast between the smooth white interior and rough, brown exterior is rather beautiful. The white glaze on the inside is especially helpful for seeing the brew color of the tea. The pictures are accurate as to the color of the exterior - note that the finish is very matte. At first I was worried it would be "too rough", but I found it is quite pleasant to hold and drink from. I've used a gaiwan in the past, but am not an expert at holding it. I'm quite happy about the thermal properties of this one - even when the tea is almost too hot to drink, it is easy to hold the gaiwan. The size is what I expected - if you are used to huge American coffee mugs, you'll find it "small", but I think it is the right size for a gaiwan.

Doesn't get too hot, easy to hold, holds a reasonable amount of strong tea for one person, easy to clean. The ideal gadget for chinese and taiwanese teas like pu erh and roasted oolongs. Suitable for fancy gongfu brewing but also works great for drinking straight from it and refilling with hot water until the leaves are tasteless. Only one minor flaw (tiny bump) in the porcelain lining, no big deal.

I really like the quality of this gaiwan. It's a little on the small side but you can get a good 1/2cup pour per brew.

I was so excited to get this teapot. The teacup is very fragile and not packaged very well. It arrived shattered and I was only allowed a refund, not a replacement.
