V-Moda BoomPro Microphone | For Gaming & Communication | Wired - 3.5 mm Jack | Flexible Boom

Initially I looked into purchasing this for my V-Moda Crossfade LP (original, not 2) as I prefer the idea of a boom mic, rather than in-line mic for playing games and using voice chat through Steam.I was rather surprised to find that this will not work with only V-Moda products but any headphones that have a standard 3.5mm jack (there might be exceptions, but I don't know), as the mic aspect is only in the cable. That's excellent news for future purchases of headphones and my recommendations of headsets for other people.Mic quality has been reported to me as being exceptionally clear. It's a mic so don't expect to sound like you're in the same room as another player and, obviously, it will depend on the quality of their headset as well but the first description was that I sounded like I was talking on a phone with good clarity. It's a mic - there are variables galore but positive feedback all round.The cable itself is pretty decent. The cable has a standard 3.5mm jack that works with Apple products, 3DS systems and the like. There's a separate adapter for plugging into the PC. I'm not sure about the in-line controls but I'm going to leave it out of pros vs cons because I can't make up my mind; there's nothing that I can put my finger on that is "bad", let's put it that way.The boom mic, astoundingly, feels solid and flimsy at the same time. It's extremely easy to bend the mic (cable? Pole? I don't know the term) but at the same time it doesn't feel like it's going to break any time soon. I can only assume that it's that well-made.If I had one niggle about the cable it's the inability to vary the length; it's too long for where I have it plugged in and I can see that other people would have a similar issue if they plug this into the front of their PC, for example. I can't call it a negative per se, however, as it's a cable length. Some people may need it to be longer.One negative I do have is that the PC adapter could have had a clearer way to illustrate which is the mic and which is audio. There is a symbol on the side of the jacks with headphones on one and an arrow on the other but I would have preferred coloured bands (do they have a term?) on the jacks, rather than them both being black.Not much else can be said, really. It's a cable that works with the headphones and the mic is clear.

I bought this for the Sony WH-1000XM4. I mainly use it for work and so far it's worked really well.Although the Sony WH-1000XM4 has an internal mic, I had to buy a separate mic for gaming to be used in the PS4.Mainly, I use my headphones for work. No problem at all with pairing and having phone calls, meetings, etc.When it comes to consoles, I had to get this V-MODA microphone for gaming. It's worth buying, specially when you run out of battery.Sound quality is great and high quality.I highly recommend this product for any headphones with/without a mic. If you are gaming, this mic will definitely boost your communication. The sound is clear and it's quite ergonomic. You can adjust it in any way you want. It also has a strong clip where you can adjust the incoming volume and a mute/unmute button.

It's great to find a boom mic at all these days, and this one is good. It's designed for the V-Moda M100s, primarily, but I've found it works with M80s and even Philips Fidelio L2s. Check the female jack socket on your headphones for compatibility if they're not V-Modas.The sound is pretty good. Not astounding but better than the vast majority. Sennheiser booms may have the edge on sound quality, but it's marginal. It's a very robust little boom, too, despite deceptive flexibility.Two gripes, though. Firstly, the cable is *so* darn long. It gets caught in everything. Yes, you might be sitting some distance from your computer when gaming, but what if you're walking around making voice notes on an iPhone or pocket recorder? It's a real pain.But secondly, and even more of a pain when compounded with that cable is what's hung off it - the most unnecessarily massive (in both senses) clip. It has a mute button and a volume button, which are useful, but no switching/pausing/transport back to the source device or anything else useful, so why so big?? It swings that long cable out into practically *everything*. I've had the headphones ripped off my head passing through doorways where the cable's swung around the handle; I've got caught on trees and street furniture; I've even become attached to a supermarket shopper's coat.It mystifies me; V-Moda are all about design, and this product could be perfect - the easy best of a thin field of competitors - if it weren't for the dumb cable. It would make much more sense if they actually had the courage of their convictions and went fully modular: male jack plug above and female below so you can attach the boom mic in line to the cable you need, just as you can with the headphones themselves.Anyway, I'd give these 3 stars if the overall quality weren't so good, and if there were much in the way of real competition to it. The price is about right. So think of this as a three and a half star review...

A fantastic microphone for the money. Add it to a good pair of headphones like the Phillips SHP-9500 and you'll have a much better headset than most £200 headsets on sale.The mic is extremely clear. Not too trebbly, and has good lowend and depth to it. The only downside is it can pickup more background noise than I'd have wished for. It also doesn't come with a boom pop filter.The mute switch and volume slider is nice and works well. The cable is great quality, a braided black cable which is fairly thin and unobtrusive. Don't let that put you off, it feels that it will last the test of time.I had to use the provided splitter for it to work on my PC so be cautious. It wouldn't work on the my PC IO with the single 3.5mm jack. I put the splitter into 1 mic input and 1 audio input on my internal soundcard to work.Sound quality to the headphones is completely unaffected which is a huge plus.All in all a great and clever little device

I've got this microphone back in 2014 and it's still going strong.It is very well built and what's the most important sound quality is extremely sharp, I have never had any complaints about background noise even though my computer is just like few inches away.It is basically plug and play microphone, there is no need of setting up any software or drivers, it is really as easy as that: just plug in and use it straight away. It has small control panel, makes it easy to adjust sound levels and of course when needed muting your microphone.Cable itself feels quite nice and doesn't often get twisted (especially comparing to my apple earphones...).Having microphone next to your mouth can be advantageous to one who is not able to speak loudly or is surrounded by people. As mentioned before voice quality is crisp and clear, and another great thing is that it will fit to basically any headphones. If you have audiophile headphones which didn't come with build in microphone, this is the best way to transform it.I have been extremely satisfied with this microphone and I would definitely recommend it. It could be a great solution in many different scenarious, from gaming to more professional related use.Definitely highly recommended!

I've had this mic for coming up to 5 years and it's still great, truly worth the money. It was either this or getting a headset which at the time wasn't really an option for me. The mic is flexible but not flimsy and I can position it however I need to. It's really lightweight so whenever I've needed to take it with me it fits in my headphone case. I use it with my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones (yes, I've had both for a while) so they do sound pretty great. I've been told that the mic is pretty clear too.Having additional volume control (not linked to the connected device's volume) is my favourite thing and you can mute the mic directly on it as well. Though recently when I'd mute it this way on a call with someone I was told that it caused them to hear my audio which was a bit weird but before that it hadn't been mentioned to me (so could be due to wear and tear?)I tend to have my headphones turned off while I use this but they work well either way if you'd rather use them with your headphones' noise cancelling. There have been a number of times where I've knocked the mic out of my headphones (due to general clumsiness) neither side where I connect the mic too feels any looser than it did before.I hope this continues to last but if it doesn't, I would definitely buy a new one. So if you're in similar position, go ahead it's a great and reliable product :).

I got this because I had a pair of headphone (beyerdynamic custom one) with a detachable cable. However, they did not have a mic so I could not use them for gaming on my PS4. Also, the mic on my laptop was not that great.But these work brilliantly! The sound quality is amazing! And they work with my laptop, phone, and PS4. No issues. The price is slighly steep, but it is definitely worth the sound quality!You can control sound volume with a knob/scroll. You can also switch the mic on and off using a switch. They all work perfectly,The cable is braded and everything feels high quality. Except the case of the volume/mic control. The plastic is not... fancy? OK, at this point I am expecting too much hahah

The microphone works well, it picks up a lot of sound so I moved the mic to be just below my chin and it gave me the best quality. Unfortunately, I think I got a faulty pair. It wouldn’t give me sound quality. Well, it did but I’d have to hold the wire into the headset all the way otherwise it wouldn’t work. I’m using the Sony Pulse headset, the original one from PS5. So it’s maybe 4-6 years old this headset. Only giving it a 1 star review incase this is helpful to others. This product does seem great! It’s just unfortunate it couldn’t work with my headset. Also, I purchased this so I could use my headset on pc for discord, work etc

Microfone de ótima qualidade, ele não capta qualquer mero ruído e a voz fica muito limpa. Na minha opinião, muito melhor e mais prático que um microfone "de mesa". Uso num SHP9500 com um dongle P3 para USB-C e funciona perfeitamente. Veio bem embalado e chegou antes do esperado.

Apres avoir utilisé le Corsair HS50 PRO pendant 1 an (casque qui a un microphone plutôt bon par rapport à ce qu'on trouve sur les casques "gaming" en general) je peux confirmer que le V-MODA est nettement meilleur!Oui, le cable est assez fin et le micro doit être repositionné fréquemment (pratiquement à chaque fois qu'on met le casque sur a tête) mais la qualité du son est tellement bonne qu'on peut lui accepter tous les petits inconvénients das l'utilisation quotidienne.Dans mon cas je l'utilise le micro avec un AKG N60, donc j'ai eu besoin d'un adaptateur jack 3.5mm vers 2.5mm pour pouvoir brancher le V-MODA. J'ai acheté au hasard, le "Vention Lot de 2 adaptateurs Audio 3,5 mm Femelle vers 2,5 mm mâle de qualité supérieure pour Casque d'écouteurs, écouteurs 2,5 mm vers 3,5 mm Jack stéréo ou Mono" et le "Lindy Adaptateur Audio stéréo 2,5mm M / 3,5mm F". Tous les adaptateurs fonctionnent parfaitement, ils restent bien en place dans le casque et passent bien le son stereo par le cable du micro V-MODA.Vu la qualité du son et le prix, je recommande sans reserves ce micro qui peut être branché sur un caque avec port jack de très bonne qualité et obtenir un headset exceptionnel et modulable !

Great product. My new Sony 1000XM4 microphones sucked. Wanted a good microphone for conf calls and casual gaming. This one fits right in..the sound quality is exceptional. Goes well with my XM4
