Beginner's Guide to Sculpting Characters in Clay

Great structured advice for those budding sculptors. A wonderful start to a practical and creative skill. One addition may be for the students to check other methods in unison.

I bought 2 of these - one for each son - I liked what it showed me in the pages we can look @ b4 buying - so decided to get it, as if not good - can always send bk, but certainly No Chance of that happening - I was totally blown away - both my sons Loved it, both model with clay. This book has a lot of help in it - nothing difficult to understand. I was super impressed by the thickness of the book as well - I did not really expect this quality - I know it wasn't cheap - but I have bought something for myself b4 @ this price, and with a lot less good info to help. Seriously going to get another for myself as well. Thanks to the Author for such a Brilliant Book.

Very good book, especially for someone just wanting to know the very basics and what to expect going forward.

I could not have asked for a better book to start with it is just filled with examples and the tools of what you will need and why. The examples shown are inspiring and make you want to pick up your clay straight away. I bought this because I am new to sculpting and I wanted to know how to make armatures and how to achieve certain effects and details to which this book explains perfectly.

This is a brilliant book with several designs to have a go yourself. The instructions are clear and is is a thoroughly excellent book. It deals with plastic clays as opposed to water clay, but the principle is the same. Thank you again.

This book is a Bible for beginners with clay model making. In depth coverage of a wide array of tools, clay types, techniques, and generally just a fountain of knowledge.

Detailed and informative. I've yet to start an actual sculpture, but have got the beginnings of a stock of clay and tools, so won't be long before I try something.

Received this book in good condition and packaging. As a beginner, this book offers me very good/comprehensive guides/approaches on sculpting with photos examples. Can be complemented by books like Anatomy for Sculptors. Highly recommended.
