Series 7

UPDATE - I have had this series 7 razor for many years now, and have always been happy with these new heads. But I just bought another (August 2024) and it is awful. It looks ok, but if I don't shave for a couple of days (which I do often), the new blade is terrible on a heavy stubble, it feels like it is plucking the hairs out rather than cutting them, really painful. Down to 1 star for me, I am going to have to seriously look at replacing the razor with a different one. FURTHER UPDATE June 2025: after months of emails and sharing photos with Braun, they have confirmed that the cutter I was having problems with IS A FAKE. It can be seen in the photo I now attach that the OLD one has springs on the blades, holding them tight against the foil. The NEW one doesn't have these, and this is why it snags and pulls the hairs so badly rather than cutting cleanly. Once I told Amazon about this they refunded me immediately. I noticed that although this has been "shipped from" Amazon, it was "sold by" a seller. I just bought another and made sure to choose "sold by" Amazon, and this is fine. So if you are having problems like I did, you probably have a fake too. My original review follows: I'm in my 50s now, and my Braun series 7 razor is the best razor I've ever owned. It's about 2 years old now, so I figured it was time to splash out on a new blade for it. I was a bit put out that it's an all in one unit now, previous razors I've owned allowed blades and foil to be replaced separately. But it's a minor niggle really. Anyway, my razor was still giving a very good shave, but with the new head it's just like new again. You don't notice the gradual decline in shaving performance over time, until you renew it. Definitely worth it.

I’ve bought many of these over the years as series 7 is better cut than my series 9 shaver, I got at good price they last for some time before the foil breaks. Before that get great cut.

I recently bought a cheap version of the braun head for my series 7 shaver and the shave on that wasn't any better than the one I took off , it was very snatchy and uncomfortable so I sent it back and got the braun version, wow it's like night and day The braun one is so smooth and refined The braun one is so much better it's incredible, I'll never buy a cheap version again.

Does the job

I bought my Braun razor series 7 --- 2 years ago. The thing is the cutting blades they wear out so slowly so i didn't realise over the last 6 months it was taking longer to shave each time. Then without realising i am pushing the razor to my chin harder and harder. Well this week it was getting very sore and pulling my whiskers so i couldn't use it. I started looking for a new razor and my razor cost over £200 so i didn't want that cost again so i was looking around for alternatives but couldn't find any as good. Then i saw this head replacement and thought lets try it and when i changed the head to the new one well i couldn't believe it. It was brilliant it shaved my weeks beard off no problems in under 5 minutes leaving the closest shave i have had for ages. A huge fat 5 stars for this as its like i have bought a brand new razor again. I am so pleased. There are other cheaper makes of this but i don't know what they are like but i can confirm this one is brilliant and its just like i have replaced my old shaver with the same model but brand new. But it is an original Braun replacement so it should be. Changing over the head was very easy its the same as when you take the head off and replace afterwards when you clean the razor, so easy. I shall be changing this again in 18 months time its worth it.

This fits a relatively old Braun shaver. Last time I ordered this for my aging father, was July 2022. Delighted I can still get the foil, at hardly any added cost.

Recambio de cabezal para la máquina de afeitar Braun de la serie 7. Me parece un buen producto, permite seguir usando mi vieja máquina de afeitar sin tener que comprar una máquina nueva. Para que os hagáis una idea de su duración, diré que yo la uso para afeitarme la cabeza día si día no, primero hago pasadas en vertical y después en horizontal, y este recambio me dura entre 11 y 18 meses. La media estaría en unos 15 o 16 meses, y evidentemente al final de su vida útil no tiene el mismo tipo de apurado que al inicio (que es buenísimo) pero puedes conseguirlo aplicando el doble de pasadas. El cabezal está compuesto por la base y tres bloques de corte. Los dos bloques laterales son iguales y tienen una rejilla, sirven para apurar y rasurar. El bloque central sirve para cortar los pelos más largos para que los bloques laterales puedan rasurarlos posteriormente. Llevo años comprando este recambio y puedo decir que en el 90% de las ocasiones su vida útil termina cuando se rompe el bloque central. Aun así, si lo sacamos se puede seguir usando el cabezal sólo con los bloques laterales para rasurar, si usáramos la máquina cada día no habría problema porque el pelo nunca crecería lo suficiente como para necesitar el bloque central. Si se rompe un bloque lateral (los de rasurar) suele ser siempre debido a la rotura de la rejilla de protección, lo bueno es que si eres un poco manitas es sencillo cambiarlo por otro que tengas de un cabezal antiguo, aunque com digo prácticamente siempre se rompe el bloque central y ese si que no tiene arreglo pues se rompe una pieza básica de su estructura metálica. La parte mala de todo esto: no he encontrado ningún otro recambio original ni el la web de Braun, ni en otros portales ni en internet, por lo que el vendedor lo tiene a un precio francamente elevado. De momento si no sobrepasa los 50 € seguramente siga comprándolo pero ya está al límite al cual reconsideraría comprar una máquina nueva que utilice los nuevos cabezales de la marca. desde la primera rasurada con las nuevas cuchillas una gran diferencia, rasurada al ras y muy bien con muy pocas pasadas y por tanto poco tiempo para realizar la rasurada. Habia olvidado lo bien que rasura mi maquina hasta que cambie por esta nuevo repuesto.
