44547 Ankle Stabilizer

My 15yr old son plays rugby at a high standard and playing and injuries at this level go hand in hand. He rolled his ankle recently and did a pretty decent job of picking up a sprained ankle. After the normal regime of Ice, Compression and Elevation we wanted to get something that would offer some support and reassurance as he hobbled around school. This was ordered and arrived ridiculously quickly in hassle free packaging. He's a size 9 and this fits perfectly. It's a bit of a squeeze getting his school shoes on, but he manages. He hasn't tried this with his rugby boots, but I don't envisage that being a problem. Initially, I thought this would be complicated putting on. I needn't have worried as there's a handy 'foot shape' to indicate where you place your heel before closing the velcro straps. There's also sewn in stabilizing straps to help prevent an inversion whilst wearing. I'll update this review when he has an opportunity to try it with his boots (hopefully before the end of the rugby season). So, at the moment, we're really pleased with this.

Tore 3 ligaments in ankle and foot. Once able to start to walk again this gave me the confidence. Very sturdy and supportive. My physio therapist was highly impressed with the quality too. Worth every penny!

Offers solid support and is quite comfortable for use but would not use for more than 2 to 3 hours

I initially sprained my ankle and now have a paritally torn tendon, and am waiting for surgery. To prevent further tearing in the meantime, I've tried loads of ankle braces. This one is very comfortable and sturdy. It fits in all my shoes and is does not cause pain under my arch like others have. The four straps are very easy to adjust and the velcro is quite strong. I'm ordering a spare in case these are ever discontinued or out of stock.

The positives: Good fast service, nice looking product (once you learn how to wrap it tidily), universal size & ambidextrous fitting; provide moderate support, are very easy to put on/remove and great value. The issues: Rigid side supports feel a little too far forward on the ankle and are a little more flexible side-to-side that I would have expected. Other braces I have tried really do stop my ankle rolling in/out, this does reduce it but I feel it could slacken with time. Also, unless you get the positioning just right, there are 2 thick seams across the arch of the foot and also an abrasive edge just below the Achilles above the heel - I haven't had much use yet but for the first few days they did dig in until I repositioned them - would have caused blisters if left any longer. If they cost more the issues would result in 2 stars.

Bought the product for my father so he could continue to teach Judo.The product did not fit around the ankle as it should, The plastic supports along the sides prevented the support to wrap around the ankle securely, bending and digging into the ankles and foot. He could not stand to wear the product any longer than 30 seconds.

A very good stabiliser, easy to put on unlike some of those others with laces and pretty solid once worn. Doesn't hinder movement or take up too much room in the shoe. I wear it for football and it's been great 3 months on.

This ankle brace was recommended to me by a physiotherapist after I sprained an ankle quite badly. One size fits all and there are 4 straps - two across the foot and two which reach from the foot around each ankle - you can adjust it to fit your foot and ankle. Within it on each side is a stiffener to prevent you going over on the ankle. It has given me lots of support and feels very safe. I have also hand washed it successfully. Recommended.

Very small, hurts the leg and cannot return

I was honestly very skeptical when I first received this and tried it on, but after actually using it, I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve sprained my left ankle twice in the past two months, so I needed something reliable for basketball. This brace gave me a lot of confidence on the court. It provides just the right amount of stability without taking away my mobility, which is huge when you’re cutting and changing direction. The Velcro is strong and makes it easy to put on and take off. It also doesn’t feel overly stiff, and unlike some braces with metal bars, it doesn’t dig into your foot or feel uncomfortable. Overall, it feels higher quality than other $30 braces I’ve tried. Definitely worth it.

Not at all effective and useful. I got the product in my absence and when I came and tried it didn't fit at all. And when I requested for return or replacement it says NO. Worst product with worst service from the seller, who is not understanding the customer issue for such an expensive product. I would highly recommend not to buy this product and not to buy any other product from this seller.
