This stuff is amazing. Perfect for sensitive skin.
This stuff is amazing. Obviously it is just shave cream, but at 52 years of age, I can honestly say it is the best I have ever used and I have an annoyingly strong beard. It is so refreshing and softens your beard brilliantly. It doesn't matter how hot you make your brush, the shaving cream goes on cold and cools your face. You can't help but feel a tingle and when massaging the shaving cream into your beard it becomes so silky smooth which allows your razor to glide through it and the bristles just fall away with no problems, leaving your sensitive skin feeling great. I cannot recommend this enough, and this is coming from someone with stupidly sensitive skin and as I have said, an annoyingly strong beard, which equals a bad combination. This really helps.

A very good quality product
The first time I used this I used too much cream and it clogged up the razor. You need about one inch of cream and quite a bit of water in the brush. The razor does still clog a bit and needs regular rinsing but it is really worth it. I was genuinely impressed with how good a shave it gives and the skin feels really refreshed afterwords. I am a prorasso convert and will definitely be buying again.

No Foam? No Problem – Smoothest Shave with Just a Dab
This is a shaving cream, not a foam – and it’s brilliant. Just a small amount, rubbed in with fingers, gives a slick, menthol-laced shave with zero drag or irritation. It’s now my go-to with the Gillette Labs razor, and it leaves my skin cool and soft afterwards. The scent is classic barbershop – clean, fresh, old-school – and the metal tube is a nice touch. Easier to squeeze out every last bit and recyclable, too. Heads-up: It doesn’t lather. That’s not a flaw – it’s meant to stay creamy for closer, smoother contact. Pro tip: You’ll use less than you think, and it’ll last. Ideal if you want a quick shave with no faffing around.

Proraso Shaving cream (tube) Review!
I've just started to shave using a traditional styled double edge safety razor Edwin Jagger De89bl Chrome Plated Double Edge Safety Razor . After researching for many hours the endless creams and soaps available i decided to go for a cream a) because creams are supposedly easier to lather b) i live in a hard water area c) i wanted to start off easy. I chose this one as it seemed to be highly recommended. Well this cream from Proraso is fantastic in many ways... firstly the metal squeezy tube comes in a box and the 150ml tube is bigger than you imagine it to be, the lid is a screw top so for travel purposes it's not going to come off easily. The cream is "pearl white" in colour and at first has a thick concentrated form, meaning you don't need much (almond size) as when you whip it up in a bowl there is more than enough for 3 shaving passes. Now this cream has eucalyptus and menthol which you can smell once you start whipping it up although it's not overpowering, indeed it smells nice and refreshing, almost like an old school barbers. I won't give directions as to how to use this cream but if you go on Youtube you can find many good videos especially from "geofatboy". The only thing i will add is if you live in a hard water area like me you will probably need slightly more cream and use warm not hot water. When you place it on your face ideally using a badger shaving brush (the one i bought is the For Him by Tweezerman Deluxe Shaving Brush ) you can feel the cooling effect of the menthol on your skin and the pleasant smell of eucalyptus. This last for the whole time the cream is on your face, indeed the cooling effect becomes stronger on your second and third pass. It acts as a good moisturizer and gives a nice slick shave due to this cream having Glycerin in it. PROS: provides a nice luxury lather, smells great, cools your face, very slick, squeezy tube is convenient and ideal for travel, will last a long time, Paraben free! CONS: as i live in a hard water area it takes me a good minute or two longer to get the desired effect but it's nothing to worry about. VERDICT: This is the first proper shaving cream i have used and i'm impressed, it reduced the irritation i use to get during shaving and the nice cooling effect of the menthol was great. Even though the water in my area is hard i was able to generate a decent lather to get three passes out of a small amount, it just took a little longer to whip up. I intend to try other shaving creams but until i do i will enjoy using this cream. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! ...any questions please post a comment and i'll get back to you a.s.a.p!

Didn’t know I needed this until I used it !
Nice feel and great smell, applies easily to stubble pre wet shave. I have noticed no nicks, cuts or razor burn since using and my skin feels fresh and invigorated. As someone who doesn’t like facial hair, but finds shaving a chore, this has been an essential find.

Espuma densa, frescor mentolado y piel menos irritada.

Smooth, soothing 😌 Amazing
Amazing! In a pinch you can use this as shaving cream. As as a base layer, it makes shaving so much better and the smell is refreshing. Will buy again

An essential part of my shaving ritual
I think any man who's found his way here cares about the shaving ritual just as much (if not more so) than the results. Honestly, these days a disposable razor cartridge, though more expensive than a more traditional shave with a double sided safety razor, does the job just fine, with no more than a splash of water. When I travel, I leave my full shaving kit at home, pack a Gillette Fusion, and don't bother with shaving cream when I'm at the hotel. It doesn't cut up my face, it's not as close a shave, but it's a perfectly serviceable and very quick method of keeping the hairs on my face appropriately short. The blades even have some lotion built in now. I imagine electric razors are pretty good these days too. What attracted me to an older style wet shave was the ritual, the meditation. When you stand in front of a sink and spend more than the absolutely necessary amount of time maintaining your beard hairs, it's a quiet time to think, do something traditional, and frankly indulge yourself a bit in a classy, manly way. You save money in the long run, certainly, and you do get a closer shave, but the time you spend doing it has other benefits as well. It's a time when you can slow down, take your time to do something right, reward yourself with a luxury you've earned. I frequently think about my grandfathers shaving in much the same way. Often I just think about things I wouldn't have time for otherwise. The ritual is a great way to center oneself at the start of the day before things get busy. I could shave in less than a minute from start to finish, but I choose not to when I'm at home. Taking time to shave more traditionally, more carefully, it absolutely worth it most days. Proraso has a well-deserved reputation for its shaving soap. I use it, I love it, it's the only soap I use. Paired with a silvertip badger brush, it produces the best lather I've ever seen, and the best shave possible. The Italians know shaving, and those green tubs of Proraso shaving soap are iconic. It does take time to get the brush and soap ready, however. I'm sure I don't need to tell you guys, shaving this way is best not rushed, and each step needs to be followed with the proper care and attention. While that's going on, however, there is another aspect of the shaving ritual that should be followed, and that is the preparation of the face to be shaved. It's good to wet the face of course, and the best time to shave is right after a shower, while the hairs and skin are moist and supple. I would postulate that another step can be done to achieve an even better shave. That step, is the product you are considering buying right now. Proraso claims that the combination of ingredients in this pre-shave cream will make the skin and hairs softer and make your shave easier. I can't contradict those claims. I have found that since I began using this product several years ago, I've cut myself less. I can't say for certain if it's the stubble offering less resistance to the blade, the skin being healthier and less likely to be damaged, or simply the slickness of the cream under the shaving soap helping the blade glide more easily. Perhaps it's all three. I can tell you it has a lovely cooling effect on the skin, and the scent is, as many have reviewed, quite pleasant. My girlfriend loves it, and who am I to argue with her wanting to put her face near mine? As suggested, I put the cream on my face immediately after a shower, or after wetting my face if I'm shaving at some other time of day. I then let it sit, while I get the rest of my ritual set up. By the time the soap is ready, I've got plenty of great lather in my brush, and everything else in place, the pre-shave cream has really done its work, soaked into the skin and hairs, and I can apply the shaving soap confidently knowing I'm going to have a great shave. After shaving, I clean up, apply my alum block, and generally don't find many if any cuts. I use an aftershave balm just to keep the skin healthy until my next time shaving, but I always like to start with this stuff here. The whole process does take a while, but if you're wondering if it's worth it, adding a pre-shave cream, for me the answer is a definite yes. I wouldn't say I have particularly sensitive skin, but with the dry air where I live, especially in winter, I try to take care of it as best I can. I've noticed my forehead, which I obviously don't shave, and don't use this product on, does tend to get irritated by the dry winter air more readily than the skin I run a razor across most days, and I think the combination of this product and my aftershave balm are responsible. The jar does last a while, so if you just want to try it out first, pick up a single jar and buy another when you start getting low, but it'll be a while.
