Re watched many times a classic for sure , give it a try at best you'll love it at worst you wont regret it. Review: Manga at its best - Great swords and violence tale. Rich characters and a beautifully told story. Also those last couple of episodes? O...M...G.

Almost a great series!
I've been hearing for years about how great the 1997 anime Berserk is. It's just one of those things that has passed me by for so long that I simply forgot about it. It was recommended recently after purchasing Death Note, so I thought I would take the gamble. My experience was a good one. The television show Berserk is based on the Kentaro Miura's mango of the same name. It was directed by Naohito Takahashi, was animated by Oriental Light And Magic and was produced by Nippon Television and Vap inc. There are twenty five episodes in total, all of which are around twenty five minutes in length. This bluray edition comes in a standard blue case and is spread out over three discs. The main character is a brute called Guts. He's a lone wanderer with a sword larger than the average man. He finds himself involved with the mercenary group, The Band of the Hawk after having a confrontation with their mysterious leader Griffith. Guts slowly climbs the groups ranks and bares witness to Griffith playing politics, which in turn leads to all the twists and turns found through out the series. I found the show to be quite enjoyable and easy to follow. Each character has their own distinct look, personality traits and voice acting. The actual story development is a little slow, especially by modern standards. But I liked the fact it took the time to develop the characters properly and by the end, you really don't want anything to happen to them. There's lots of good backstory, most of which get drip fed to you slowly. By the time we find out the full truth, I was fully immersed and sucked into the world. The transfer of the show is quite good, I thought. The colours are strong and there is plenty of detail. You can see some odd dirt marks etc here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary for older animated films. The sound is also spot on. I liked the Japanese voice over but preferred the more consistent English audio track. The sound track was also quite memorable and sounded quite magnificent through my home theatre. I particularly loved the track Forces. Unfortunately for the series, the story was left a little unfinished, I assume due to budgetary reasons. The ending is quite something and appears to be a hit or miss with people. It had come so far and evolved into an impressive beast by the time the last episode ended. I personality didn't mind it much but it would have been great to see the show continue and resolve the arc. Also, some of the voice acting for the side characters range from decent to awful. It's nothing unusual for anime shows but can be quite distracting. Berserk is definitely a show I'll never forget. It was quite unique in a lot of ways and I'm glad I bought it. I'm not sure who to recommend it too as it's a bit more mature than a lot of things you find these days. But for those wanting something darker more mysterious with lots of little political twists etc, this is definitely a show worth picking up.

Amazing
I'd never seen Berserk before purchasing, but as a committed Dark Souls fan, this was a must. You can really see the inspiration for Dark Souls in it. A must for any Dark Souls fan, or any fan of quality anime.

Exceptional picture quality, highly recommend
Out of all the animated Blurays I have, this one really stands out in terms of picture quality. The image is sharp, authentic, and high resolution. There's no ugly upscaling, or anything along those lines. No noticeable compression, artifacts, or banding. Genuinely excellent.

Epic
This is hands down the best anime series ive ever seen and the blu ray is great for anyone that loves the show, arrived on time and was in mint condition, just the standard 3 disc blu ray set but that will keep me happy.

A very good re-master
A classic anime, one of the best. Not all blu ray versions of older titles add that much more, but this one feels like it's had the proper re-master treatment with bold and vivid colors, but still keeping to the correct aspect ratio.

It's Beserk
If your a fan of the dark souls games then you'll love Beserk, you can see where from software got their inspiration for the series. The animation style of beserk is more of a comic style but the voice acting and story are amazingly good.

Spedizione Amazon ok

First off this is a Region B Blu Ray so if you do not have a region B or region free Blu Ray player then you shouldn’t get it. If you do though you gotta get it. Berserk has been highly praised and I’ve heard so many good things about it and when I got my region free Blu Ray player I had to get it. It is amazing. One of the biggest complaints I’ve seen is the animation... so I love traditional animation so I thought it was phenomenal and impressive with the occasional lazy still shot with no animation but overall it looked great to me. The characters and story are really good. I will say towards the end of it, it gets a little weird. Also my only complaint is the ending. It goes 0 to 100 in no time flat and moves way to fast. I knew a little about how it was going to end so when I was on the second to last episode I was like “how is (the part I knew was coming) gonna happen”. Well it speeds through the end and could have and needed another 2 or 3 episodes to have ended smoothly. For instance the first episode is a “future” episode and they hurry to try to get up to speed with that episode in the last episode. Also they leave you in a very “what happened” and “how” at the end because it was at the height of action when it ends. That ending was really what leaves a sour taste in my mouth but the other aspects are too good to overlook. But it really was like a football game where the kick off is returned 99 yards and then the player starts celebrating and drops the ball at the 1 yard line, and it leaves you thinking “why couldn’t he have just held on the ball and scored the touchdown”.

Anime original del 1995 en bluray, con una calidad de video y audio brutales. Se echa en falta los subtítulos en español para poder disfrutar del audio Japonés en su esplendor, pero no hay nada que perder teniendo los subtítulos en inglés. Compra recomendada.
