Automatic LED Night Light - Plug in & Energy Saving Dusk 2 Dawn LED Night Light Sensitive Night Light

After moving into a new house which is very dark on a night, I wanted a nightlight I could simply plug in and leave on without having to worry about switching off - this is perfect! I tried some cheaper nightlights which were meant to detect when to come on and go off, but they varied massively. I swapped them between rooms and some lights would pretty much always stay on, which I didn't want. This light however is very accurate and comes on just at it starts to get dark on an evening. It emits a bright light in quite a wide angle, one of these at the top of the stairs illuminates the stairs and all the landing. If the children need the toilet on a night they can easily see where to go. I have 5 children and they like the landing light left on, now I don't have to put it on, this does the trick and I never have to worry about turning it on and off, I just leave it switched on and it automatically comes on for the twilight hours. In a nutshell: This is very well made and much more solid than some of the cheaper ones, I wish I'd just got this to start with as it detects light far more accurately and gives out more 'quality' light (instead of just being focused forwards, this emits light in all directions. Easily the best night light I've tried, it is probably too bright to put in a bedroom, but perfect for a landing or hallway.

I was worried that the light might either be too bright to the extent of disturbing sleep or not bright enough to allow one to get up from bed without bumping into things. But it turned out to be just right! This item was intended for a generously sized bedroom and I can honestly say it emits sufficient amount of light to see ones way around in the dark. The other good thing is how small it is, not like a towering lamp. I like that it is safe, even if children were to touch it they are not at risk of injury as it does not emit heat and is completely safe in that sense (N.B I do not condone leaving children unsupervised at any time). I like that when it is plugged in it adjusts to natural light, switching off by itself when there is sufficient light in the room and also switching on automatically when it is dark enough. The other bonus of course is that it is energy saving, thereby kind to your utility bill and kind to the environment. An excellent product all round.

After making three errors with lightbulb style for my old style nightlight, I bought this one (for less than my three errors combined). It is good for what I use it for - a light in the hallway at night - but as a bedroom nightlight I would find it a bit bright. In old world terms, the night light I used to use was about 5-7 watts, but this one is probably around 15. Saw some questions about bright enough to read -- probably no if you are more than 2 feet away from it. Sort of difficult to explain - it is a strong light that carries in terms of distance, and bright when you look at it, but it isn't bright in the reading sense - more of like a bright diffused light. Personally, for a baby I would have wanted a less bright light, unless the room is big. But you can always put a chair in front of it or something to block out too much light. Still, overall, I like it. Nice design, too. BTW I haven't tested the on/ off capability because the hallway that it is in gets no sunlight so I always turn it off by the plug switch in the mornings and turn it on at night.

I was going to give this four stars because initially the bright white light concerned me a little bit, I assumed it was going to be a yellow glow. However at night time although white, it's still fairly subtle but lights up enough for you to be able to see everything in small spaces. This light is perfect for my 3.5 year old, who is complaining shes scared of the dark. She's happy with it and was really excited when she saw it. It's really sturdy but small, so is easily plugged in and doesn't look like an eyesaw! Very pleased I didn't end up paying between £10-£35 for a child's night light that other companies charge huge amounts just for the name of the cartoon printed on the side. Super fast delivery. Bargain price and comes in a neat small box, really happy with purchase and now I can finally turn off the landing light at night! Strongly recommend for others with small children who need a simplistic yet decent light to put their dark fears to rest and give them a better nights sleep!

I have 2 of these night lights now and they are brilliant. The light level is perfect for bedrooms and hallways or landings. I have 1 in my 4 year olds bedroom which is quite large for a childs room, it gives off the right amount of light so that it is not too bright and not too dark. We then have our 2nd one on a long upstairs landing which means we do not need a main light switched on at night to walk between the bedroom and bathroom or from bedroom to bedroom. Have seen some questions asking if it is a good enough light to read by but it is not. I have tried a few different night lights but this one gives off the best amount of light , is best value for money and is small and compact. The only slight thing is that it should turn off when there is natural daylight but I find it can still stay on, not enough of an issue to deduct a star from its ratings though.

This does exactly what you want a night light to do. It illuminates just enough to see in the dark. Our 3 year old daughter has recently become afraid of the day and started getting up in the night, either waking us or just switching on her Peppa Pig Lamp which is far too bright. She would then sleep the remainder of the night in bright light which cannot be good. However, this little gadget is fab; it's not flashy looking and it's not 'themed' or dressed up in character packaging but really why would you want it to be? It comes on when the light starts to fade and turns off as the sun comes up. Every home should have one!! The company also delivered extremely quickly.

We bought these when we had our nieces stay overnight with us, because we didn't want to leave the big bright main light on in the hallway/landing all night as it's too bright. It's lovely and glowy and worked a treat. It is very subtle - don't expect it to completely light up the room because it doesn't. It gives them enough light for them to see where they are going if they get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night (with ours it's right by the door, so it guides them to the right direction). They are automatic, so they won't even come on until it's dark. Brilliant!

EDIT: after 8 months, the light has dimmed somewhat. At first I thought it was my imagination, but I bought two at the time, and when I brought the unused one out, it was almost twice as bright. It will be interesting to see how much the first one further dims. The description below was what I wrote on first using the night light. This is nice and bright without being intrusively bright. I was fed up of unnecessarily leaving our two hall lights on all evening, and this has turned out to be the perfect solution, especially as it automatically switches off as soon as another light source comes on. Be aware though that if you leave the socket switched on during the day, it will automatically come on once dusk comes, or if the weather is dark & cloudy during the day- its sensors are really quite sensitive.
