Review: For years, pop culture fans imagined and drew fanart of a crossover between Godzilla and the Power Rangers. Well, this year, that dream became a reality via comic book courtesy of IDW: "Godzilla vs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers". Does it live up to the concept and hype? In a word: Yes! The Power Rangers fight giant monsters on a regular basis, so having Godzilla meet them is a perfect fit. It's a straightforward crossover with almost nonstop action throughout; tons of monsters from both franchises, lots of mayhem, and sprinkles of fan service. Interestingly, the action gets a tad violent with a small amount of blood and several people dying, so this is not entirely kids' stuff. I enjoy the clash of styles, especially with the villains; Rita and her minions are outlandish and boastful while the Xilians are straight-faced and serious. The comic also keeps you on your toes with shifting alliances, adding new dynamics to keep things from getting too boring. Of course, seeing Godzilla fight/interact with the Rangers is the highlight and both are portrayed as they should (classic heroism vs force of nature), just the right combo of cheese and high stakes, plus the team learning some nuance from their kaiju counterpart. I also dig the artwork, colorful yet gritty and visually looking animated. My one criticism is that certain dialogue exchanges get repetitive after a while. All in all, "Godzilla vs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" is a comic that knows what it is and just has fun with the concept. It delivers on abundant action and shifting dynamics in a visually appealing way. Definitely one of the better comic crossovers I've seen. Two scaly thumbs up! Review: Es un cómic buenísimo. Lo recomiendo mucho.

It's got a neat blend of Kaiju action and Power Rangers, a lot more kaiju fights than I expected and the power rangers fit into the story smoothly

This was bought as a present, so I sadly didn't get the chance to read it myself; but it was received with excitement and shock, so I'd say it was a winner. It came sealed in film so there was very minimal warp but no folds or tears in sight.
