The sound recorded this mic is amazing. We now have 2 iMic's in our business because mine was always being 'borrowed'. It is well made and reassuringly heavy. This is not some cheap plastic mic. This mic is a robust workhorse that will withstand daily use. Pro's: The sound quality is amazing. It records with a dead sound, similar to working in a soundproof room at a studio. The mic picks up sound from the front and side noise/ fans, AC, birds outside... are all eliminated. Con's: I haven't found any! We use our mic's daily as a web-mic for Zoom calls and Skype. We also use it to record podcasts, audio for training courses and voice-overs to touch up video. it is a great interview mic straight into an iPhone/Android (Android needs a different lead (https://amzn.to/2rzTZOc). This mic will be one of the last you will ever buy. This iMic cannot compete with some mic's for specialist recording (it is not a true shotgun mic), but for most applications, this mic will serve you very nicely,.

Checks most boxes for a fast, easy way to record in the field. Features are easy to use. The old style connection plug needs to be a usb-c plug. Providing extra cord or using a converter connector isnt ideal.

Stuck at home, I wanted to upgrade my podcasting/video conferencing capabilities. For video, I used my DSLR camera. For audio, I added this mic and some padding. The mic was easy to set up, and people have told me my sound quality was great. My home has a lot of ambient noise, and this mic seemed to keep it out. I am very pleased.

Looked far and wide for an easy way to record singing with tracks - this is it! Took a couple of hours to learn the app but once I did I have been singing and recording non stop. GREAT product and really good sound quality - LOVE IT!

The mic works really well. Clear sound and it picks up very well. The app that you have to use is a bit buggy so I hope they make it more stable soon. I have not edited any videos from it but from the headphones everything sounds great.

Yes, you can plug it into your iPhone and (depending on the app), it's a quick and easy upgrade to your iPhone microphone. That said, it's not MUCH of an upgrade. This thing is essentially a toy. If you've used a professional microphone, it doesn't even come close. You certainly wouldn't want to record any professional audio with it. Also, IK Multimedia are hopeless at customer support, their apps are terrible and the mic is surprisingly glitchy and incompatible with so many popular apps.

4.5 stars. Improvement over the previous model but still some things need to be improved. The USB slit can be difficult to insert the cable into, you have to be lined up perfectly or forget it. Still nothing to hold the cable in place either, so a slight tug can yank it out enough so it stops working (usually without you realizing it). It's the best interview Mic you can get for an iPhone at the moment. I use it to conduct interviews recorded on the native video software on an iPhone 8s and an iPhone X.

Absolutely brilliant, use it on my android phone. BUT SOME IMPORTANT TIPS BEFORE YOU BUY FOR ANDROID! Make sure your phone supports USB OTG (on the go) otherwise it won't work. Use the "open camera" app on the store, its free then set the audio to external mic. Also make sure that the app isn't saving to an external sd card. No matter how fast your sd card is the footage will lag or not record audio when someone is speaking into the mic at close range. It's just normal with external storage because it's slower and an external mic is a lot to take in while recording video at the same time. It's not the fault of the mic at all and it's an easy fix. I've been using a budget motor g6 to record on though so you might not have that problem with higher end phones. Would highly recommend this product.

Ich arbeite bei einem Radiosender und war auf der Suche nach einer mobilen Alternative, mit der ich O-Töne in Top Qualität aufzeichnen und am besten gleich mit dem Smartphone versenden kann. Nachdem ich mitbekommen habe, dass das »K Multimedia iRIG Mic HD 2« sogar im ÖR benutzt wird, fiel die Wahl nicht schwer. Okay - der Preis ist ne Ansage, aber das bezahlt man auch für ein gutes Aufnahmegerät. Auf jeden Fall zeichne ich nun Interviews mit dem iPhon8 auf und kann sie gleich danach versenden, so dass sie weiterverarbeitet werden können. Neben einem Lightning-Kabel für das iPad und iPhone liegt auch noch ein USB Kabel in der tollen Tasche, so dass man das Mikrofon auch am PC nutzen kann. Auch wenn es einen internen Poppschutz hat, habe ich mir bei Amazon noch einen extra Poppschutz gekauft. Sowohl ich als auch meine Auftraggeber sind mit der Sprachqualität absolut zufrieden. Ich habe mir zusätzlich die iRig Recorder App gekauft und für 5€ die WAV Funktion freischalten lassen, so dass nun alle Auftraggeber meine Sprachdateien in höchster sprachlicher Auflösung bekommen.
