WEN 6307 Variable Speed Detailing File Sander with 1/2-by-18" Belt

Product does its job! I got it for my dad for his birthday and it does fantastic, he uses it for wood/metal carving. It works better with the metal, the speed is efficient, the battery last a good amount if you’re not using it for hours at a time. He is always happy with the quality sanding job

Great price and the functionality is better than expected. The band tension and release is very tight in a good way. I feel confident that the surface is aligned when I apply force at any angle. The angle adjustment is adequate and the motor speed control is surprisingly sensitive. This is great for general purpose. I don't think it is built for someone who is using it everyday in a shop, but good quality for DIY.

For a very inexpensive power tool, this surpassed my expectations. At least thus far. I've only had it for a few weeks, so I can't speak to overall durability. Pros: It has been a workhorse for me during a deck refinishing project at my house. I've pushed it hard for over an hour at a time and it's held up. The sanding action works well and it gets into so many places my other sanders can't. The belts are relatively inexpensive and if you use the tool correctly, you don't burn many up. Cons: Changing the belt is harder than it should be. Getting the existing belt off is easy. You push in on the end and it clicks in place to relieve the tension so it allows for swapping very easily in that regard. The problem is, it won't pop back out into its normal tension placement. I've tried just about everything. I always end up having to almost fully remove the tensioning adjustment screw (with a Phillips head screwdriver) and then pulling and tweaking the track to get it to finally pop back out. This is a design flaw. Also, the unit will put off a lot of heat as it's running. Can get uncomfortable to handle if you run it for very long. Overall, I don't regret the purchase. I wish it were easier to change the belts, but for the money, it's paid for itself with just this one deck sanding project.

Works great! This tool allows you to reach the spaces your other sander cannot reach. And honestly, it removed the material quicker than my orbital sander and belt sander albeit much smaller space and surface area. Definitely worth the money. Also, one last thing, when you call WEN for product support, you reach a person in the US.

Very good tool! Keeping in mind that it is NOT a "heavy duty" tool, it does work well for my needs, light dressing of forged items. It's lightweight, handy, and actually works surprisingly well. Good buy!

I am SO happy with this purchase! This little file sander is exactly what I needed for my woodworking! It has plenty of power, the sanding belts are incredibly easy to change, and it's adjustable angles and slim design allows me to sand in all of the hard to reach areas! Plus, the price point can't be beat! I highly recommend getting one!

This mini belt sander really wow'd me with regard to the performance and quality considering the price. It's easy to change belts, the variable speed control and adjustable angle are both huge pluses, and it's comfortable to hold and use. Granted, since it has only a 2A motor this is not an industrial-grade powerhouse, but it has more than enough power for jobs around the house including wood sanding, sharpening mower blades, re-edging shovels, etc. It's especially well-suited to lawn mower blade sharpening -- much easier to control than an angle grinder, and way faster than a hand file. Good to see there are still some power tools being made that are inexpensive but still built well enough for good service. Five stars.

Easy to change the belts, just push the end of the assy in till it clicks, change the belt and press the button in the dust port assy to release the spring loaded assy. It runs great, but does get a bit warm when using it for a long time. I used it to remove the inside weld seam on square steel tube to make telescoping fixtures. I would buy again and am glad I bought it.

A very good product at a fair price. Needed to remove aluminum molded ridges in a tight space. Took time, but got the job done, with different belts got a very fine finish.
