Specifically for Newer sliders, nice upgrade, works fine, ok price
When Neewer released this remote control for their slider series, I hesitated a bit. After all, I already have a remote for it - my mobile. But you can always get an unexpected call in the middle of filming… And not draining my already fragile battery also matters. So what is this remote control made of? Mostly plastic. Plastic screen, plastic buttons, plastic shell. Fairly decent quality one, although the buttons could be slightly better. At least it's really lightweight. The screen is actually alright - quite visible and you can even adjust the brightness inside the app. The 'joystick', not sure what to call it, moves in all directions (and also spins around, sadly to no effect - perhaps with a future update?). It's quite responsive and is used to navigate the on-screen menu. You also have an on/off button, a useful home button for going back to the main menu, a 'tick' ok button and a take photo button, if your slider is connected to the camera by cable. At the bottom part of the remote you have a USB-C port for charging. A matching cable is provided. Judging by the colour inside the plug it's a USB 3.1 version, which won't be utilized a lot as it's just a charging port (or is it???). The connection is fairly straightforward - you just press the photo and the on button simultaneously until the screen with 'Pairing…' appears. Then you quickly turn the slider's motor on. It should then say 'ok' and go to the menu. If it says 'over' instead and it's your first attempt to pair, you're in a lot of trouble…I'm joking, you just need to try again. After pairing, you can just switch it on and off without further repeating the above process. The upgraded version of the remote does pretty much everything that the mobile app does. I only haven't managed to set the A-B points yet, everything else worked for me. The range is very decent - definitely worked for me from a distance longer than 7 feet, contrary to one of the reviews. The £40 price is a bit of a hard sell, if you own one of the newer sliders that work with the mobile app. It's really great for the older sliders though, as they didn't have a wireless remote. It's a functional device specifically for Neewer sliders, that makes life easier and cooler. I'm happy to recommend it for anyone who owns their gear. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Well Made & Useful Remote, If A Tad Expensive
This remote from Neewer is compatible with its range of Motorized Camera Sliders (the VS-80/100WC 2.4G sliders will require a firmware update). Although made of plastic, it feels well put together and has a good finish, and has the advantage of being lightweight. The display is nice and clear, as well as bright, so is easy to read. The internal rechargeable battery is a nice feature, and can be charged via the USB Type-C socket in the end of the remote. Although a USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable is included, you will need to provide your own 5V/0.5A USB power supply. In use it paired easily, and the controls were responsive, and I found it much easier and more convenient to use than the App. Overall, I was happy with the remote, although I must admit I think the price of £39.99 seems a tad high for what it is. At the time of writing (Oct 2022) there is a 20% off voucher, making it £31.99 which is far more reasonable in my opinion. ~ Amazon asked me to review this product and to give my honest opinion about it. That’s what I have set out to do, so I hope you found it helpful. ~

Works with old and new camera slider
This remote is perfect as a replacement or upgrade for an existing Neewer camera slider if you want to advance your video and photography skills. The remote for the slider is compatible with both the older generation and the newest generation of NEEWER motorised camera sliders. It features a 2.4G stable wireless connection, video camcording and time-lapse photography. Moreover, it also supports setting A/B point, adjustable internal, exposure time, fixed shots, number of shots, and delay. This upgraded slider remote is designed with a USB Type C charging port. It's simple to couple with the slider by holding down the power and photo buttons while turning on the slider's motor switch. It's been steady so far, with no connection drops. Plus, the remote is responsive and seems sturdy, so I anticipate that it will withstand a few drops. I also appreciate that it does need batteries because it is rechargeable. Overall, it's a good remote control for Neewer camera sliders that works both in the old and new versions. I’m happy to recommend this one.

Well worth adding to your camera slider setup.
Firstly, I should say I am a great fan of Neewer photographic equipment. It is well made and is at a price which is generally far less than the big brand names. I have the motorised camera slider. Great for what I do in making videos and taking stills for products – mostly my old camera collection. The remote, makes it even easier to use the slider and saves time. The connection was clear, and easy to connect to the slider. Charging with the USB-C is a welcomed change from the less well now connectors and no I had no losses of connection. It allowed me to get even more from the Neewer slider, but easier. I can set the A/B point, exposure time, fixed shots, number of shots, and delay. All in all, a great and welcomed addition to the camera slider setup.

A good remote for Neewer camera slider.
If you already own a Neewer camera slider, this remote is ideal as a replacement or an upgrade to take video making and photography to the next level. It's straightforward to pair to the slider by holding the power and photo button together and then turning on the motor switch of the slider. So far, it's been stable with no drops in connection. It has a screen from which you can select the time lapse, video, manual mode and control the settings. The remote is responsive and feels durable, so I'd expect it to stand up to a few drops. It's also rechargeable, so need need for batteries. All in all, it's a good remote control for Neewer camera sliders, whether new or old. I hope you found this review helpful.

No se empareja con el slider ER1-120. Y el manual no es para nada claro, demasiado escueto. No viene con el cargador solo el cable.

À bit complex to use.. you need to get used to it. But once you understand the user interface, the. It is less hussle in the operation of your slider. Also note that every 5-8 minutes the controller shuts down to save on battery. Then it takes sometime to turn it on again and you might loose on the moment.

I bought this remote to go with the ER1 slider motor incase there is a day that the app is no longer supported in the future. I had to seek Neewer support, send videos and though their support replied, it was slow and also somewhat inaccurate. I sense it is a simple language barrier. At the time of writing this the limited support documentation for this RT-08 and ER1 is incorrect in how to sync and over simplified (for older remote). There is no Neewer Videos on the website nor on Youtube for this device but I have requested it occure for future. Following is the order of success for pairing: 1. Disconnect battery from motor and leave it for 10sec to completely reset. 2. On the motor press and hold the power button while inserting the battery and continue to hold the button for 8 sec to enter into pairing mode (you must force pairing mode). The next step is critical to occur at the same time. 3. While inserting the battery and holding the power button on the motor, after about 2 seconds then activate the remote in pairing mode by holding the power and photo buttons that are next to each other (as instructions state and this can be done one handed). 4. As the motor activates into pairing mode the timing of the remote also activating into pairing mode is essential (You have about a 1sec window). Only then will it sync up. Note: The app and remote cannot work at the same time so be sure the app is disconnected before attempting this. Once you have this running the remote and fine and works as intended. I suspect a firmware update may help. Secondary Note: I am on Mac and though the Neewer Firmware App can be downloaded, installed and bypass Apple security the actual Firmware updates cannot be run as they are not (at this time) Mac friendly nor can the remote be connected to the Mac. Thus there is no way to get the firmware onto the Remote. It does appear that the Motor accepts firmware updates via the app but the remote cannot be paired to the App for updates.
