It depends on how long you are trying to keep the pears. Pears are slightly more delicate than apples, but not anything like berries. They arrive unripened, and will need to sit out on the counter until ripe. This is not a bushel of pears, but a small box, which could easily be eaten by a family in a few days.

I almost ordered these until I read the sarcastic answer to the question below " can these pears be cut to size" ~ consumers rule, right?

This fruit box is sent several times a year (4+) to a senior lady, who does not drive and is in a remote area. She loves the fruit boxes, and this one has always arrived without problem. It is well received.

Can You Poach These In The Microwave?

Yes, you can basically poach any pear. This box contains a variety of species/types, but they are unripe at the time of arrival. It took a few days fort hem to ripen up. This is not the first time we purchased this gift box.
