High self-noise
Pros: Good build quality, emulations, HPF switches, pad switches, shock mounting. Cons: Very high self noise on my SSL 2+ audio interface -- even worse on Zen Quadro noise preamps After website registration, I was able download mic emulation software easily. Value is decent, even with its flaws. Big con is self-noise. It was too high for me, although admittedly I do have very high standards. I think the average user may be satisfied with the product if used with the quiet preamps of an SSL usb audio interface, but the added noise of a Zen Quadro preamp would make it unacceptable for many I fear. And of course you need the Zen Quadro in order to implement the mic emulations. Sorry Antelope Audio.
