I dislike the packaging in the envelopes but I like the powder. Has there been any improvement?

The packaging is envelopes. The powder in the newer kraft packaging has a better taste than the shiny, blue envelopes that it was previously packaged in. I liked it in both packages.

Does this powder have a strong color? I want to mix it in the flour to make Macarons

Yes. It is similar to the color of raspberry with blueberry; very berry color.

My friend tells me this is great for colds. Is this true?

yes, it's a berry. Berries are full of anthocyanins which is a highly concentrated antioxidant. That means it is a great flu/cold fighter and you get all that with extremely low calorie count. Truely, a superfood. Good luck!
