Great Value!
I’m honestly really impressed with this e-bike! It’s lightweight and surprisingly easy to carry and move around, which was a big concern for me before buying. Even with the battery, it doesn’t feel bulky or hard to handle. The ride is smooth, the motor assist works great (especially on hills), and it feels sturdy and well-made. For the price, this bike is absolutely worth it. You get solid performance and good quality without spending a fortune. Definitely a great value and a smart buy!

Impressive for price
Initial impression: Surprisingly good quality. I have tow Yamaha e-mountain bikes (mid-drive), and my son has a Bafang mid-drive conversion kit, so I have good basis for comparison. This Totem is not too heavy. Fit and finish is very good. My 13 year old son put it together for his sister in about 15 minutes. I'm 180 and 6' 3'' and I could adjust it for my height. Power was surprisingly good. Intuitive. Power continues a bit long after pedal effort in assist mode, but it's a matter of getting used to. Throttle works well. Power deliver is gradual and controllable. With seat all the way down it fits my 10 year old daughter, who will be the operator. She loves it so far. We'll see how the battery life is with light rider (67 lbs). It does not compare with the Yamahas, but those are $4k, and it doesn't match the Bafang top speed or acceleration, but I didn't want that for my daughter. The bike is well suited to light, novice single track, rail trials, et. I wouldn't want to pound it like I do the Yamaha, but it does seem sturdy. Components work very well. Dual disk brakes are great too. Nice simple and functional gauge too. Very satisfied with what I see for now. Will do an update once it has some miles. 7/14/24 update: two 20 mile trips on gravel rail trials and the bike performed flawlessly using about 1/5 of the battery with mostly pedal assist, which is great range for our purposes. My daughter loves it. It has transformed our rides, no more complaining about distance. Also did some very hill terrain on dirt roads and it did great. Tire upgrade to more aggressive tread is for steep terrain recommended.

Good quality parts, fit and finish
I was plesantly surprized with the fit and finish of the parts used on the bike. The gears and controls work smooth and feel solid. The disk brakes are a nice upgrade to my prior bike. The metal pedals (not plastic) have a good grip on your shoes. An adjustable stem is a must for my height as I ride with the seat high up and want an upright riding position. I will however replace the factory adjustable with an aftermarket one that is a bit taller. The seat size is very good, but I do plan to put on a similar size gel one. The bike was easy to assemble. The hardest part was getting it out of the box, it is well padded into place. I found a couple things different on my bike than in the assembly manual but minor. In my case I had to rotate the stem 180 degrees on the fork, not simply rotate the entire front fork assembly as shown. The instructions didn't note how to loosen the stem to rotate it on the fork so took a couple minutes to work out. I ran it on my usual 10 mile RT loop downtown and back (it's winter here so didn't go further yet) and was very pleased. It is easy to pedal in unassisted mode, where I rode 90% of the time. A quick tap on the control to Assist-1 flattens modest hills. I used assist 2 on a couple steeper hills. So far I havn't found a need for higher assist levels or their higher speed. With my modest assist choice the 10 miles didn't budge the battery level indicator so I expect quite good usable milage on a charge. My wife is thinking of getting one too. Update: With my lite assist riding style I now have 28 miles on this battery charge with 4 bars still showing. I do think it's close to the second bar going out but not quite there yet.

Worth the value
Seems good so far easy to assemble easy to use. The tires seems on the cheaper end but nice bike for the money

Horrible brakes and false distance claims
This bike has several positives (speed, good going up hills, looks good), but unfortunately, it's terrible in every other area: * ATROCIOUS BRAKES: Seriously, the brakes are terrible. After about 20 miles of use, they started sliding and quickly stopped working. By that, I mean I'd push on the brakes, and the pads wouldn't adhere. This is a severe safety risk and means you have to give yourself 50+ feet of stopping distance to stop the bike. I had to spend $150 to replace the entire brake mechanism, but even after that, the brakes needed adjustment at least once a week. * FALSE DISTANCE CLAIMS: The ad claims "20-40 miles on a single charge." That is a blatant LIE. The bike manages 8-10 miles TOPS on a single charge before dying, and sometimes it struggles to achieve that. Yes, if you put it on level 1 and crawl along the road at 1 MPH, you might be able to get close to 20, but NO ONE RIDES LIKE THAT. I bought the bike mainly for that claim, and it's totally false. * CRAPPY TIRES: My back tire burst FOUR TIMES in the first month of having the bike. And that was just with everyday street riding, no off-roading. The instructions say tires should be 40 PSI, but when I took it to a repair shop, they said that PSI was too low, hence the constant popping. I've wasted well over $100 replacing the damn tires. * WOBBLY BATTERY: The battery is not secured well enough. Whenever I'm riding, it wobbles around and makes an irritating sound to boot. This worsens when you brake as the wobbling and noise intensify. I seriously regret buying this bike. I went the cheap route because I wanted to test the e-bike waters before spending big, but since I've got the bike, I've spent almost as much as it costs on repairs. DO NOT BUY. You'll thanks me later.

Best purchase I've ever made and I truly mean it
My 18 year old son and I both got one and let me tell you this bike is SOLID in every single way I can even begin to think of! My son had them both put together and on the Rd riding in less than an hour. Shipping arrived in less than a week and we have put both through the paces and I feel extremely comfortable leaving a super glowing review! Not one single issue not even with the tires. I've driven mine over a hundred miles and only had to charge it 3 times for about an hour and a half each time. I had to do some serious learning mostly because im 43 and haven't even ridden a regular bike since I was 8 years old so this this felt so scary fast and the concept of pedal assist was completely foreign to my monkey brain while I was terrified of using AT ALL so until recently I only used full handlebar acceleration no pedal assist whatsoever because of the way it lurched you forward so quickly (,think less than a quarter rotation of the foot pedal and your already up to 15mph which felt like 164mph to me for some reason but I am proud to say I've started using it enough in the past few days to feel like I am developing a near mastery of it 😆) ! I will be adding a few upgrades like a phone mount very bright head and tail lights with blinkers and side mirrors plus a nice rearview camera system with a larger screen so I don't have to take my eyes off the rd in front of me to see what is approaching from behind. Also adding some led spoke lights for night visibility and just for badassery tech effects (the kind you can use an app to program 3d/4d images that fill up the entire inner wheel area and move/change kinda like customizable live wallpapers on a phone but more advanced. I have a JBL Clip4 portable Bluetooth speaker that clips onto the handlebars perfectly and sounds amazing lasts for almost 2 weeks per charge and allows you to still retail perfect aural awareness of what's going on 360degrees around for safety and is perfectly sized so as not to be a hindrance in any way! However even without any of those extras I mentioned this ebike is perfect all on its own merit especially for beginners and for the price point it might as well be striking gold ya just can't beat it !

Decent e-bike but battery sucks
A decent starter bike for the price, easy to assemble but the battery itself is a huge problem, it doesn't ride well in cold weather and the battery depleted riding only 9 miles when it was supposed to last 40 miles on 1 charge. Disappointed in that, brakes work excellent, not very comfortable the seat keeps on falling down even after tightening the latch. But for under $400 I guess you get what you pay for.

Stay away for your own safety
Rewrite of review. This is a very entry-level bike into e-bikes. It's on the smaller scale than a regular size bike. I would say the motors are working perfectly. I would say I had issues with the electronics but seems like one of my sensors in my brake was broken so it was causing issue when I was trying to stop and the bike was just running out on itself. That's fixed now. I fixed it myself. I drove the bike for about 70 km now which I got to say is pretty good but I hit a pretty big bump and the bike wouldn't shift anymore. I went to a local bike shop and they told me that the parts I had in the back was basically all bent and had to be replaced. So after spending about 150 bucks getting the back and the front redone seems like the bike is doing good. I'm still under 1,500 bucks total with this but as I was saying this is a very very entry level and this is why it's so cheap
