As advertised not greasy or smelly

I have been using Penetrex for years with great success for my arthritic knees. I thought I would try this formulation to see how it compared. I felt no warming and an overall effect that was similar to the original but seemed slightly less effective. Currently I am applying both creams, one after the other, and that seems to work well. However I will probably not continue to purchase the new one, although the tube would be convenient for travel. I like the original Penetrex.

I’m writing a new review do to the fact that even though this product did not work for me this company went above and beyond to make things right…They contacted me immediately and reassured me that this cream may not work for every skin, the apologized and advised me they would refund my money and to just discard the cream…they truly do care and are very easy to work with, their customer service is amazing…thank you Danita

I've been a Penetrex user for quite a few years and swear by it. I got this new item with Capsaicin after researching but ended up having a problem after using the first day. I rubbed into hurting areas of arthritis and muscle pain, and it worked pretty well even though I didn't feel any skin warming. I washed my hands after applying but didn't stop to think that if you touch the skin where it's been applied it is on your hands again. Found out the hard way when I rubbed my eye a couple of times and felt instant burning. I had to use cold water in my eye extensively. Couldn't figure out what was causing it and when it happened a second time, I realized what was going on. Capsaicin is made from peppers and can cause reactions and of course burning eyes. I won't be using this item again even though it helps with pain. I'll stick with my usual Penetrex. No one ever knows if they're going to rub an eye or some other sensitive area, so I decided to send this warning.

I really like this product and in my 70's I've tried a lot of products. This one is by far the best I've use. I try to walk every day and I over did it one day. My legs and hips were screaming at me due to overwork and strain. I found his product and love it. It doesn't really get hot but just enough to calm that pain. I think I healed up quicker because of this product. I put it on and rub it into the skin really well. It doesn't leave a residue. I love this product.

I have been purchasing Penetrex products for years and have always been a satisfied customer — until I tried the Penetrex so-called “Arthritis Pain Relief” product. Quite frankly, it should be renamed the “Pain Inducing” product. The very first time I used it, my skin developed a highly visible intense red, and burning sensation that lasted for hours, even after thoroughly washing the product off. The reaction was severe enough to cause significant discomfort and concern. A product marketed for pain relief should not create additional pain and irritation. In my opinion, this product is unsafe, should be immediately discontinued, and deserves serious consideration for a recall.
