220v outlet made easy.
If you want to add 220v outlet this is great. Just pull wiring from the the switch board. Do not do this if you're not familiar with your electric power wiring.

Cannot handle rated power
Fortunately, we found this before it caught on fire. Running an eight amp load, which is half of its rated capacity, causes the poor quality contacts to overheat and self-destruct.

Great to install instead of using an EU plug converter.
Bought this to install in the hallway for my UniFi chime to plug directly into to instead of using an EU converter - does the job a treat and makes the chime much less obtrusive and prone to damage as it barely sticks out at all now.

How to fix a wobbly power adaptor plug in one of these sockets
Some continental appliances come with rectangular section plugs (especially if they contain a mains power transformer). These tend to be a loose fit into the circular-shaped aperture of a continental wall socket. My solution was to use the plastic ring from a 20mm wide reel of Sellotape which is a tight fit into the socket and also around the power plug. Result: An absolutely solid connection.
