MALACASA 4.4 Qt Large Casserole Dish with Lid, Ceramic Baking Dish for Oven

I’m really pleased with this MALACASA 4.4 Qt casserole dish. It looks elegant and clean in classic white, and it goes straight from oven to table beautifully. The porcelain finish feels smooth and well made, and it’s very easy to clean — even after baking dishes with sauce and cheese. Contrary to some comments I read, I found it true to size and perfectly suitable for standard casseroles and lasagna portions for our family. The depth is especially nice if you like generous layers. It is a bit heavier than I expected for its size, but that also makes it feel substantial and sturdy. The lid fits well on mine and makes storage and reheating convenient. My only hope is that it holds up well over time without chipping or cracking, as porcelain can be delicate if handled roughly. So far, though, I’m very happy with the purchase and feel it’s a great value for the quality and presentation. Would definitely recommend.

I purchased this 4.4-quart casserole dish specifically to bring my cheesy potato pie to my in-laws' Christmas dinner. I wanted a dish that would make my contribution look as aesthetically pleasing as it tasted, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Why this dish stands out: Elegant Presentation: It is a truly classy way to represent any dish. It transitions perfectly from the oven to a formal dinner table without looking like basic bakeware. Ideal Capacity: The 4.4-quart size is generous. It held a large portion of potatoes easily, making it perfect for holiday gatherings or family-style meals. After reading reviews of the larger covered casserole dish, it’s interior size, etc., I was not sure if it really would be just the right size for a deeply layered lasagne using standard length noodles. I was tired of trimming them to fill in 2 or 3” gaps. I took a chance and am SO glad I did! Its interior is the PERFECT size for 3 rows of noodles, slightly overlapped. The sides even flare out a bit to allow for expansion, and the cover fits well on mine. The handle is on straight, and I find it easy enough to grab to lift it. Not with a thick hot mitt, but no problem with a potholder or doubled up kitchen towel. Also, it’s NOT HEAVY for a ceramic dish! I have many pieces of stoneware for serving and baking, and this is light for its size compared to them. It will add 4.9 lbs of weight to a dish, 7.75 lbs with its cover. I’m 72, have arthritis in my hands, and weigh just over 100 lbs myself, and I’m going to enjoy using this often! The side handles are an inch deep and ridged so they won’t easily slip out of one’s hands. I’m going to make sure I have the right potholders, though, before I bake in it. IKEA used to sell some silicone 1/2-mitts that would be great for these (and other) handles. Maybe add a pair of those when gifting the larger 4.4 (or 3.4?) qt size covered dish. I LOVE the cover because it’s not just beautiful, it’s terrific for baking without aluminum foil. I will no longer need to use parchment paper underneath the tin foil I’ve always used to cover this tomato-based dish as it bakes! No more worries about aluminum leaching into my casseroles due to a chemical reaction triggered by the acid in the tomatoes, many fruits, etc. This really is the PERFECT lasagne dish!

First off, this is a very nice pan. Heavy, study, and overall great quality. I did feel the measurements were a little off and pan was slightly smaller than described. I was looking for a larger pan to fit in my wire rack and this one was too small.

Not only very appealing to the eyes, it cooks perfect. Very well made.

it's really cute, dishwasher safe and can withstand up to a pretty high temperature, nothing past 400 F but i don't mind. It's pretty deep, enough for a casserole or if you're lightly roasting something. If i needed more than one, i'd gladly get another one of these.

Use all the time, sturdy bakes well and even. Love the lid, cuts down on waste. Use it weekly at minimum.

I ordered this dish to have a "nicer" casserole dish for company. It's a little heavy but I am ok with that. The pattern is lovely and its perfect size for 2 or 4 people. What really impressed me the most is that shortly after I ordered it, I received an email from the company, saying they will do there best to have it packaged so there will be no damage during shipping, but if it is damaged, to contact them so it can be addressed. It was very well packaged and there were no cracks or chips. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the handle on the lid could be a bit higher and bigger. With oven mitts on, it's a little hard to grab. Highly recommend

I bought this casserole dish because I didn't have one with a lid and I have numerous recipes that call for a lid and aluminum foil is not always the best as a substitute. The bonus is that the dish is also good looking and can be brought to the table to serve and look lovely. The quailty is also excellent. I am happy with my purchase.
