A must read!!
I don’t know what to say about this exceptionally well written book. It makes you fall in love with these characters, you feel their pain and sorrow. You cry for them. You cheer them on wishing things could be different but they get through this, broken but stronger than what they were before. Excellent book.

Enthralling but violence at end is too rough for gentle souls
Set in WWII France, this novel will hold your attention like few others. Sadly, the last few chapters contain the descriptions we've all read before about how awful the Nazi's treated those under their regime. I'd wanted to share this book with my elderly mother until I reached that section. It's a great story, but not for gentle spirits.

The Print iss very small in paperback.
I have to return this book because the print is so small. I purchased the paperback version. Neither my husband nor I can read it. We love Kristin Hannah's other books, but publishing a paperback that is unreadable is contrary to attracting readers.
