Innovative Lighting LED White Case Stern Light with Suction Cup

Great light for the boat! Suctions to any flat non porous surface. The boat we use it on has a more rugged texture in spots to prevent slipping so we pop it right on top of the motor and it makes for a great stern light. Just make sure you tie it on because vibrations can cause it to fall. This is the second one we have purchased because they work so well.

Very well made and will give off the Coast Guard's required amount of light. The Batteries will last about 12-15 hours of run time. I have been pulled over several times at night and the Coast guard and FWC have never had an issue with it being compliant. Also, it is pretty tough, I have dropped it a few times with zero damage.

My rating is really 4.5 The light is as bright as many small watercraft stern lights The light does not come with a lanyard/ carabiner ($4-5 more in "components") There is a place opposite of the on/off switch to attach a key ring/lanyard/carabiner combo. The suction cup provides good suction AND is durable. I've used the suction cup lights from chain specialty outdoor stores - the Innovative Lighting suction cup far outlasted the lightweight rubber of the competing product/ The I/L/ cup is retained by the light housing by a bolt head that is imbedded in the top of the rubber suction cup (I once accidentally separated the light assembly from the cup by vigorously pulling straight up rather than sliding the cup along the deck to break suction). My lights have floated with the batteries installed. No leakage was observed. The Eneloop rechargeable batteries have worked very well in this application. They hold more power than alkalines and retain their charge very well over several months or more. I primarily put this light on the stern of my kayaks and have occasionally used it in a pinch on small outboard powerboats. I own 4 of these lights (handy for group night paddling trips). Due to the short profile of this product, the user will want to make an extra effort to position the light where it is most visible to other boats

I use this navigational light on my dinghy. The suction cup allows me to mount it on top of my outboard motor. I've never had it fall off even when going through big waves going to and from my sailboat. The light is adequate and provides safety as I'm navigating after dark around other boaters. Price is a little more than I would expect for this type of product but it works well so I can't complain too much.

This is a fantastic all-around white light for boats. Good quality, and the battery life is excellent. I recommend this to anyone who needs a backup or primary white light.

Will use this as an all around light if I am stranded after hours and need to anchor out. I don't think I should rely on the suction cup to hold the unit down to a fiberglass surface over time or in a gale force wind, when anchoring out unexpectedly in a safe harbor might be necessary. As such, I am contemplating rigging a lanyard to the device and tying it off to hardware up top to save it if the cup fails. But this will not assure visibility. It's maybe okay in a pinch.

I don't take my boat out after dark very often. But I got tired of the typical pole light & socket never working due to corrosion or getting damaged. I just switched to this nice battery powered unit and run it off some rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. I install the light on the couple of nights I need it, and just store it in the garage or on the boat when I'm not using it. Very happy with it. If you want a more secure mount, you can get an aluminum clamp mount for cameras...the light has a 1/4-20 thread at the base that works great.

The light is perfect for a small boat. It isn't too bright, so doesn't kill night vision. But strong enough to be seen. It has two threaded bolt holes, one on the side one at the bottom. So you can use other mounting systems and different angles. Thread size about the same as standard tripod mount for camera. Very useful.

Nice and bright. Together with the bow light, works great for kayaking at night.

Great light . Only thing is is the suction does hold very long . (at least in my application)

Kept the coastguard off our back while cruising down the east coast to Bahamas and back as well as keeping us safe. Built well to withstand the elements.
