OXO Good Grips Nylon Slotted Turner

Quality material. Nice sturdy design. Very easy to handle and very easy to clean. Will make cooking easy when you need a dependable turner. Great value for the money.

I love this so much! It's nice and thick but not heavy. It has a nice handle with a little bit of a grip. It's sturdy so I've used it for pancakes, grilled cheese, meats, etc. and I have no worry about it breaking. I bet this is going to last a lifetime!

Nice works well

I had leftover broiled salmon and decided to make fish cakes with it. The basic recipe is, for 1.25 lbs of meat, a half cup each of chopped onion, cooked to they're soft, fresh bread crumbs and chopped parsley; salt and pepper; and to hold it all together, a raw egg. You want to use as gentle a hand as you can to form the fish cakes. The cakes should be just holding their shapes. So I formed the cakes on a small cutting board and decided to use the new spatula to (a) transfer the fish cakes from the board to a butter-oil combination that looked to be just right in the pan; and (b) turn the cakes over half way through the cooking (three minutes per side). You can guess from the five stars, the Oxo spatula did a fine job. These are delicate fish cakes, and it's not uncommon for them to fall apart during cooking. A crude-edged spatula can make a mess of things. For me, cooking fish cakes, the edge was fine enough to do a stellar job, as good a job as the small metal spatula that I use for very gentle turning.

Summary: This flipper melts and turns blotchy. I have been searching in vain for a long time for a decent spatula for eggs. Finally found one from William Sonoma. Around $19, thin, keeps its shape after daily use over 2 months now. Wider than I would have chosen and not a slotted head which I prefer from I guess growing up but still MUCH better than anything else I have tried. Other nylon spatulas I have tried, (like this OXO) melt. Silicon types are thick and/or sticky and too bendy and sometimes weirdly small. Original review of this OXO flipper: I have a number of OXO products as they are usually high quality. It is the first brand I go to for kitchen utensils. This product turned out not so great. It is nicely thin and well shaped and rigid enough for a usable spatula for me. The issue is that the front edge melts. Leaving a melted rough edge that is harder to get under food. And more importantly where does that melted stuff go. Maybe into the food. I actually have another OXO brand spatula I bought some time ago that is almost the same shape except with slots instead of round holes. That one works wonderfully. It has never melted and is equally nicely thin and rigid and the right shape and size. I wish I could find more of those. I am now looking for replacements, OXO or otherwise, for the two of these edge melted OXO spatulas that I purchased maybe 6 months ago.

Nice tapered blade makes it easy to use. Good weight, not flimsy. Goes through the dishwasher fine. Just what I was looking for.

I needed a new spatula for use in my new fry pans and this oxo truly delivers. Durable and easy to clean, I am becoming a firm believer in the OXO brand

Slowly but surely replacing my kitchen utensils and equipment for OXO Good Grips - great design, easy to use, easy to clean, hard wearing and durable. Can’t rate highly enough. Yes, there are cheaper, but if you want something that will last (and therefore save you money in the long run), these are the tools for you!

A really solid spatula. I like it. it's strong, comfortable and doesn't easily melt. Mine has no melting on it. The only issue is that it's probably too stiff - but there's no doubt this is a quality product
