Nice blend of story & facts
I liked that this came with two levels of text. It provided a rhyming sort of story scheme with underlying facts. We talked about the times of year when the wolves would be doing things. I lied that it ties wolf life events into events liek holidays that most kids can recognize.

Beautiful pictures. If you want to learn how to draw a wolf, the pictures help alot. Very detailed and it is also a great story for ages 9+

The illustrations are beautiful!
My daughter loves this book. She is really into wolves right now and this caught her eye. The illustrations are true works of art and the detail in them is interesting. The story is informational, yet simple. It's an all around good book.

My wolf-obsessed, 7 year old neice loves this book.
This is a great story to help my neice learn how to read. She LOVES everything wolf related, and this is a new favorite.

Gorgeous illustrations
The information contained in the book is a little too graphic for me (the very first page is very wordy, anyway.) My son is 4 and couldn't handle that stuff. But the rest of the book is great. The poetry seems a little forced but the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely order more books in this series.

Great book about REAL animals
No talking animals here. And real predation is described as well as hunger and cold, but the author does it in a way that should not upset a young child and is much more truthful than most depictions of animals. This is one of my favorite books to read at bedtime!

Beautifully written and informative
A wonderful book which, through poetry tells you about the life of a wolf in the wild but at the same time is non fiction as it gives facts relating to that part of the story, in a different text on each page. Great pics too. Used it in my class to find out about wolves, the children loved it.

A beautifully illustrated book, providing an insight into the life of wolves. Super as a science information book for KS1 and LKS2. Book received promptly and in super condition.

Beautiful book. Love the illustrations and the language. It is a story, but realistic- not glossing over things such as hunting. I read it to my class as part of a study of wolves and they loved it!

Will wait grandson a bit older than 5 as it is very honest about wolves ability to hunt!
