I actually have 4 of these. They do the job really well. Set up was a breeze, really super easy. The hose connection does not leak. I have had these for a few months now and they have held up really well. I would highly recommend these.

I received the RAINPOINT Sprinkler Timer within 2 business days and the timer unit was self contained no physical setup required. After installing the batteries which was very easy, the battery compartment is pressure sealed with a soft plastic gasket which prevents water from entering and damaging the batteries (nice feature). There was no power on/off switch to the RAINPOINT Sprinkler Timer, which is a nice feature to save on battery life. After the batteries were installed you are ready to setup the watering cycles. There are 6 settings (Off, On, how often, how long, Start, Set Clock) which walk you through setting up the current local time, how often do you want to watering cycle, long do you want the water to run, and what time do you want to start the water. The quality of the material was good and sturdy. I would recommend this product based on price, quality and easy of setup and use.

Simple setup and reliable

It is really easy to use and if you use the Teflon tape it won’t leak. It has done well with a sprinkler and haven’t had any issues with it getting wet. I’ve had it for several months and the battery life still shows as full. The display will go to sleep so be mindful of where your spout is located. You can adjust the settings very easily but be mindful that when any settings are changed it will start on the designated start time. Moved it to my backyard and added a splitter and it is doing well controlling for front and backyard watering.

Once you set the time and duration just forget it.

I have a big garden that use to take me over an hour to water. I bought 2 of these and an irrigation system. I didn't hand water all season long. It keeps good time and if you set it to water for 20 minutes its accurate. I use re-chargeable batteries and didn't have to swap them out all season. A+ for me.

I've been living in my current house since July 2017. It's now August 2025. I have two outside spigots, each of which has a foundation watering system (aka irrigation) timer on them. In that time I've gone through two Orbit brand timers every other year. At $40 bucks a pop for around 8 timers, that's more than $320. I finally figured out what people mean by the definition of "crazy"...that is, doing the same thing over and over and expecting (well, hoping anyway) for a different result. Well, this time I went out on a limb and bought a different timer. So that's my story. With that said, the timer arrived in good condition and came with something that I had never thought about: Teflon tape! I've always had a hard time preventing water leaks. But the Teflon tape did the trick. The timer was easy to program and I've got my fingers crossed that it will hold up.
